About

Fiber Naturally Grown, Naturally Good

In 2012, our family purchased 63 acres in western Tennessee (USA). After making a final move in the summer of 2013, we slowly began clearing areas for extensive gardens, planting fruit trees and berry vines, and fencing fields for new livestock family members. We are committed to pasture-fed livestock, including Jacob sheep and Nigerian Dwarf goats, and the humane raising of Angora rabbits fed plenty of natural vegetation such as red clover.

The spring of 2014 found us engaged in our first sheep shearing. Jacob wool is a coarse blend of black, grey, and white fibers valued by hand spinners and felters. We hand-wash and hand-card our fleece into soft rolags suitable for spinning or felting projects.

Angora rabbits moult their soft and luxurious fibers several times a year. We collect these for hand-spinning and knitting.

Coming soon: Bars of all-natural soap hand-crafted from the creamy milk of our Nigerian Dwarf goats and felted with Jacob wool for a clean, exfoliating shower addition!

Small-scale farming is a new venture for our family. A former history instructor, I have swapped a classroom of active and intelligent students for a field of active, intelligent and hungry critters! Hard work? Yes! Lots of joy? Yes!
