It arrived yesterday--it's an 6th anniversary gift (traditional=iron) and it looks amazing! I know he's going to love it.

Hello! Welcome to Duende Forge. I am a cutler and general smith, working in the Denver Metro area. I have been creating sharp and pointy things from steel for more than ten years. I am inspired by the ideas of functionality, utility and simple beauty in tools, and strive to make knives that are used every day. To this end, I specialize in knives for the kitchen and the field that are made to be used. The ideal of utility drives my design, choice of materials and my pricing structure. I want my knives to be accessible to as many people as possible. That said, it is important to understand that I use only non-stainless High carbon steel for my knife blades. The will rust if they are not washed and dried immediately after use. They will develop a patina during use. The patina does not affect edge retention or the taste or color of foods.

I will consider most custom orders. I also am willing to teach classes in knife making and blade-smithing for customers in the Denver metro area.

I stand firmly behind every single piece I make. If you don't like it, for what ever reason, I'll buy it back from you. If it fails through a fault in my workmanship, I will buy it back from you.
