The birth of a crafty business...
Duke And Eats Design was born one sunny afternoon in the early Spring of 2017. As the mom of two wonderfully energetic boys, who had been cooped up all Winter long, I knew that they needed more time outside. Problem was, they were tiny tots and this busy mom had to supervise.
While I sat and worried about all the things I had left to do inside the house, they were having the time of their lives. After a few days of brainstorming how to combine supervising my boys in the great outdoors while having a little fun myself, the solution hit me with the power of a huge crashing wave down on the nearby beach.
Why not bring my projects outside and play right along side my boys?!?! So I set up a little work space in our garage and introduced my inside craft supplies to my garage tools. Peg dolls meet cordless drill. Craft paints and artist brushes meet chalk paints and big brushes. Tiny bird houses meet sandpaper and safety googles. Little boys, nicknamed Duke and Eats, meet creative work that brings joy and satisfaction to one's life.
Now those two tiny tots are big boys and crochet has become my favorite crafty passion but we all still love to play outside. I just don't have to supervise them as closely!
