Announcement   Welcome to Duke G's Wood Crafts. Our goal is to provide attractive, quality hand made items with a historical bent. We are still expanding our product line, so check back often to see what we've added.

We also occasionally offer some vintage items (usually wooden) that seem to fit our theme. These appear as we come across them and are usually one-of-a-kind. That said, we can usually make up a modern reproduction if you missed out on a vintage item we had earlier.

Custom orders are gratefully accepted on a time available basis. Our current turn time is 1-2 weeks. Many of the items we offer can easily be made larger or smaller, or with a different wood. Convo us to discuss your requirements we try to have a response for you in 24 hours or less.

We support sustainable forestry. The wood used in all our projects is either harvested on our property or sourced from an FSA certified lumber yard with a commitment to sensible forestry practices.

Our packaging is either new boxes made from recycled materials or reused boxes. Not as attractive as they could be perhaps, but a lot more sane in the long run. After all, you want what inside, not the box. You don't need our logo printed on it. We aim to keep our shipping costs as low as possible while still getting your item safely to you.

About

Wood furniture & decorations with a historical flair

I have been a hobbyist woodworking for 30 years and semi-pro for about the last 5 years. My focus has been on small scale furniture (small tables, benches, etc) & decorative items like boxes, candle holders, cutting boards, etc.

Since 2009 I have been dealing vintage tools, especially woodworking hand tools to support my personal collection and woodworking hobby.

In May 2011 I decided to "go pro" with my hand crafted wood items and vintage tools full time. Always interesting and beats the hell out of commuting to a cube hell as I had done for 20+ years in the IT field.

The shop is SMALL. The main area is 13' x 11' with an outer area of 6' x 10' for storing wood and breaking it down into manageable chunks. Almost all my larger power tools are on wheeled bases so I can roll them into a storage area when not in use. I long for the day I can set up some of the tools I have acquired but can't setup. O, for a 40' x 60' pole barn...

Payment
I accept PayPal and Money Orders. Esty now processes credit cards for all vendors, so we accept those as well. I have to charge 6% sales tax to all Maryland residents, sorry.
Shipping
I ship three times a week most weeks - Monday, Wednesday & Friday; depending on postal holidays. I ship mostly USPS Priority Mail as this gives the best service for the money. Parcel Post is no longer very timely nor all that much cheaper than Priority. Larger/heavier things go UPS Ground. Other services, even overnight if you are willing to pay for it, are available by request.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with the transaction. I handle each issue on a case by case basis. In general I have a 7 day return policy unless otherwise noted in the listing.
