Ho iniziato a cucire dopo la morte di mio padre e sono rimasto con i suoi vestiti - piuttosto che buttarli fuori o tenerli in una scatola, volevo trasformarli. Anche se non avevo molta esperienza di cucito, ho iniziato a trasformare i suoi vestiti in animali di peluche. Quando gli amici li hanno visti, hanno chiesto i loro animali di memoria, e ho scoperto che amavo esprimermi con il tessuto.

Dopo essermi preso qualche anno di pausa per aver lavorato al mio progetto più creativo di sempre - mia figlia - sono tornato alla macchina da cucire e mi sono ramificato in borse, vestiti per bambini e adulti. Forse la più grande aggiunta alla mia cassetta degli attrezzi è stata il ricamo a macchina; riuscire a costruire un'intera borsa da zero e abbellirla è un'emozione!

I started sewing after my father passed away and I was left with his clothes - rather than throw them out or keep them in a box, I wanted to transform them. Although I didn't have much experience sewing, I started turning his clothes into stuffed animals. When friends saw them, they asked for their own memory animals, and I found that I loved expressing myself with fabric.

After taking a few years off for working on my most creative project ever - my daughter - I came back to the sewing machine and branched out into bags, clothing for both kids and adults. Maybe the biggest addition to my toolbox has been machine embroidery; being able to build an entire bag from scratch and embellish it is a thrill!
