Mi chiamo Erika e sono la creatrice di Earfunk!

Ho una formazione formale come pittore e fotografo e volevo esplorare altri sbocchi creativi. La creazione di gioielli è stata per me uno spazio davvero divertente e trasformativo per sperimentare nuovi materiali in un modo completamente diverso.

Un po 'sul processo:
Tutti gli orecchini sono realizzati in argilla polimerica. Similmente alla cottura dei biscotti, stendo a mano la pasta da modellare e utilizzo le formine per creare forme. Da lì, ho la possibilità di esplorare la mia creatività: utilizzo vernici, inchiostri, texture, pigmenti, ecc. per creare design unici. Quindi cuocio i pezzi per curare l'argilla. Dopo il raffreddamento, foro a mano, carteggio e lucido tutti i pezzi per poi assemblarli!

My name is Erika and I am the creator of Earfunk!

I'm formally trained as a painter and photographer and I wanted to explore other creative outlets. Jewelry making has been a really fun and transformative space for me to experiment with new materials in an entirely different way.

A little bit about the process:
All the earrings are made from polymer clay. Similar to baking cookies, I handroll out the modeling clay and use cutters to create shapes. From there, I get the chance to explore my creativity - I use paint, inks, textures, pigments , etc. to create unique designs. I then bake the pieces to cure the clay. After cooling, I hand-drill, sand and polish all of the pieces to ultimately assemble!
