5 out of 5 starsI was looking for the perfect earring for my vintage golf-themed shirt, and these are it! Though tiny, the sculptures show great detail, and the red CZ is a nice detail that matches the red of my shirt. They came in a lovely box.

Additional policies and FAQs
Everyone has heard of gold and gold-plated, but people often wonder about the difference. And then, there is another kind of gold finish called vermeil, which is made into jewelry, tableware, and other fine pieces of home décor.
Pronounced “ver-may,” this material is a combination of silver and gold. The gold portion must be about ten karats, however, depending on the thickness of the piece for which it is being used, it can be as much as 14, 18 or 24 karats. To the naked eye, it looks just like pure gold but is often less expensive and can be shined up to a gloss, or left to tarnish for a more vintage look.
Some might wonder then, what the difference is between vermeil and gold-plated or gold-filled. With gold-plated, there is a base metal of steel or brass which is then dipped in gold to create a thin layer. The gold is known to wear off eventually. Anyone who is allergic to the base metal may experience a skin reaction, such as a black rubbing or rash if they are allergic to the metal underneath. Gold-filled is actually better quality than gold-plated. The base metal is still brass or copper, but the outside of the piece bonds with sheets of gold, usually 14 karat. The sheets of 14 karat will not peel off and offer a less-expensive alternative to solid 14 karat gold.
With vermeil jewelry, the base metal used has to be sterling silver, which is much better for those who have skin allergies to other base metals. The silver is then gold-plated, but with a thicker coating, often as much as 50% thicker than a traditional gold-plated piece. While less expensive than solid gold jewelry, using this technique is still more expensive than either gold-plated or gold-filled, as the price of gold and sterling silver brings the cost up a bit.
I do my absolute best to portray accurate colors in my photos, yet every computer screen is different. For stones, please understand that these come from natural elements, so you may notice slight variations in each stone, and no two stones will be exactly alike.
Is the jewelry Hypoallergenic?
For an additional .50 I can upgrade & replace the ear wires on your earrings to surgical steel. They come in gold plated surgical steel and surgical steel – gold and silver. Niobium ear wires are available for an additional $2.00.
Niobium is an excellent choice for people with metal allergies. It is highly resistant to corrosion and other reactions, and is used in medical implants. Niobium is not plated or painted, so the color will not flake or chip. It is anodized, meaning it is colored by dipping it into an electrically charged “bath.” Because it is an inert element, with no nickel, lead, or other additives, most people with metal allergies can safely wear niobium. Niobium is a rare inert metal so it is hypoallergenic and terrific for sensitive ears.
Unless stated otherwise, they are not hypoallergenic. I try my best to use nickel free and lead free materials and most of the components are silver plated or gold plated brass, which most people do not react to. HOWEVER, if you have sensitive skin, the jewelry may not work for you. In this case, use the variation and upgrade to a hypoallergenic earwire. I am NOT responsible for skin reactions to the materials in the jewelry.
Is the jewelry Sterling Silver?
Silver colored jewelry may be silver tone, silver finish, silver plated, silver filled, or sterling silver. The last three are the highest quality. I try to list the quality of all gold and silver. If you have questions, please convo or email me.
JEWELRY CARE INSTRUCTIONS
In order for your jewelry to last and look good down the road, you need to make an effort to maintain it properly. The care you provide for your jewelry will be rewarding by providing years of pleasurable wear. So please make sure that you understand how jewelry should be worn, stored, and properly cleaned.
Here are some simple things you can do to protect your jewelry:
• Apply makeup, hair spray, and perfume before putting on your jewelry
• After each wearing, wipe with a soft cotton cloth to remove make up and skin oils.
• Remove jewelry when gardening, cleaning or bathing.
• Do not wear in a swimming pool or hot tub. Chlorine can damage various gemstones and metals.
• Keep away from chemicals, extreme temperatures, and sunlight.
Here are some tips on storing your jewelry:
• Store away from heat sources and sunlight. The sun may fade some gemstones and materials.
• Store separately so each piece doesn't scratch or chip. It is recommended to store jewelry in and on soft surfaces and surroundings. *If your jewelry contains a resin cabochon, this tip is especially important to prevent it from chipping.
• Store jewelry with silver accents in zip lock plastic bags to retard tarnish.
