Announcement   Bluebirds have arrived at EarthDances Pottery! We now have several pieces of pottery that feature bluebirds, and more are coming. My passion for bluebirds began when I lived with a family of Eastern Bluebirds for several years in a Connecticut meadow. One of the bluebirds became so tame he would land on my hand when I called him. For the full story, go to www.ReachingOverTheRainbow.com

Just in time for spring: PURPLE GLAZES!
After months of experimentation, I have finally created two new glazes: Lilac and Plum. Purples can be a challenging color for pottery that is fired at high temperatures, because the pink component frequently burns off in the kiln. But these light and dark purples have retained their color and are ready for their debut on two hummingbird bud vases.
Happy Springtime!!

Getting ready for Valentine's Day?
Express your love with living flowers in a vase that will last a lifetime.
Have a wonderful Valentines Day!

About

About EarthDances Pottery

Former soloist with American Ballet Theatre, Judith (Lerner) Taylor, founded her pottery business, EarthDances Pottery®, in 2001 to express the joy of movement through clay.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I became fascinated with pottery as a teenager, but it wasn’t until I completed one career as a dancer and then a second career as an executive in pharmaceutical marketing, that I found my way back to my enduring passion: ceramic arts.
"I learned the fundamentals of my craft from several master potters in the Northeastern United States and continue to develop my ceramic technique with the same discipline I applied to ballet. I have exhibited in over a dozen art galleries and participated in a few hundred art/craft shows, including those of the Potters' Guild of New Jersey, an organization where I served as President (2004-2006). Several of my pieces have received prizes for excellence at the juried art shows in which they appeared.
"No two items are identical in my repertoire of vases, plates, platters, bowls, pitchers, and other ceramic pieces. My forms are highly sculptural, and each expresses the sense of motion through its flowing shape and in the patterns of the glazes, paintings, and carvings.
"My goal is to instill in others, through my pottery, the sense of freedom and exhilaration of dance."
"For more images, descriptions, and press releases, I hope you will visit my own website at www.earthdancespottery.com. Meanwhile, please explore my brand new Etsy shop for EarthDances Pottery (just launched in June 2017), and enjoy the dance!"
Frequently asked questions
If I purchase more than one item in an order, how can I save on shipping costs?
In order to reduce shipping costs, all your purchases can be packed into one box. Although this will increase the size and weight of the box, there will still be a cost savings compared with shipping each item separately. To do so, please contact me BEFORE you purchase your items, tell me which items you want to purchase, and include your zip code. I will calculate the new shipping charge and customize the order for you, so you will save on shipping costs. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
