These impressionist works are beautiful. This was my first foray into ACEOs, a choice I made because I wanted to support artists and own original artwork but don't yet have the budget for a larger-scale original work. These are so good that they really make me lament those fiscal limitations, as Mr. McCarthy's talent deserves a larger format. Also, all three were packaged with care and were shipped promptly.

About

Adventures Of A Romantic Artist

I was born in NY City back when we still had only 58 states. Let's leap forward 23 years. By 1980, I finished high school, college, developed a love for art, particularly the art of painting. I also found and married the love of my life, Jean, and moved to Colorado. It was a busy time!
I love Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West. I developed my painting techniques, styles, and love for the fantastic terrain featuring mountains, canyons, valleys, rivers, lakes, streams, and wild western weather. Basically, I feel in love with the Great Outdoors.
In 2008, we decided to make a dramatic change, and relocated to Florida. WOW, what a shock!
After a few miscues, I eventually got my sea-legs and began painting coastal/tropical Florida in earnest. Obviously, Florida isn't scenic like the Rockies Mountains or the southwest are scenic. Florida is much more subdued. It's more about the people that interact within it. What I call intimate landscapes. Florida is the Great American Vacation place, and nothing says, "this is Florida", more then the seashore. This has been my focus here in Florida.
Fast forward to Fall of 2015. My wife and I decided it was time to had back out west.
So, we sold our home, pack our stuff, studio, art work and such and headed back to southern Colorado. And I set up shop and I'm back to working in the studio.
Now, I'm combining a wide variety of subjects, and modifying my style to match.

My style?
I have given up The Dot. The Dot bespeaks of my pointillist works.
Today, my primary style today has shifted back to what I call Romantic Realism. A style I've experimented with off and on for 20 years. It's fairly Realistic (somewhat Impressionistic) in execution and speaks to the more emotional and heartfelt aspects of life (Romanticism). That's what I've longed to paint for some time now.
I hope this has helped explain a little about what I do, and why my works look like they do.
Thanks for stopping by my site. Enjoy!
Ed
