Over the last two weeks I have been experimenting with different recipes that would render the best possible look of reconstituted stone. In the mix is hydrostone, pigments and fillers. I am working from within the mix rather than with a surface patina.
Preparing the sculptured tile for the mold pouring. Once this is done then I can start casting them with hydrostone.
This tile is 7.75" x 7.75". It will be mounted on a 10" square engineered embossed plaque.
$39.95 for 7.75 x 7.75
$9.95 for 5 x 5

About

COMING FULL CIRCLE : WHERE MY FAITH AND MY ART UNITE!

It started with the need to do something with my hands at the same time I was having the conversation with God. This time it was a medium in which I hadn't touched since fine arts school : Sculpting with clay. The first tile that I made was the "Five loaves and two fish". it is the feeding of the 5000 people. Jesus, disciples told him to send the people away so that they could go in the surrounding towns and get food. Jesus asked them to feed the crowd. He also asked what they had. What resources were at hand. They replied, five loaves and two fish. They gave them to Jesus and He multiplied them. So for me it was an AHA moment. In my conversation with God, He asked me "Mario, what do you have?" "The talents of drawing, sculpting and my theological education, Lord", I answered. "Give them to me and I will multiply them to build my kingdom".

It was and is a joy. Time flies and I really enjoy it doing this. I also have peace. A peace that I have not experienced in a long time. So one sculptured tile lead to another. Joy and fulfillment crept in after each new sculpture. Creativity was crawling in from all angles.

I called up my sister and also contacted my niece who are both on Etsy and the latter who is having tremendous success there and they gave me great insights and helped me develop my shop. Thanks Anne Marie Buscio of AMBillustrations and Sarah O'Leary and her husband Gabriel Laliberté of Prettygrafikdesign.

So, with a lot of tweaks and revisions my shop is taking shape and products are being developed. Working from home and putting in the hours that I need to is now a joy and not a burden.

My wife is an evangelist, a real people person with a huge burden for the lost. I hope and pray that through this I can support her in her ministry.

Be blessed and bless others on your daily journey with the Lord.

Well, how did this Etsy shop begin? I think that I came full circle. I was first studying in fine arts. Became a christian which took me down the trail of theological studies up to graduate school. Now using theology to influence some of my art.
