Awesome bag! It's really cool and I love it! ^^

I grew up in beautiful Idaho Falls, Idaho, until I was a month from turning 17. I'd never really had a hobby before, because I was always running around with friends at church and the mall. But in February 2010, it all changed. I moved to beautiful, humid Minnesota. Eh, humidity. Anyway, I was...well, bored. I didn't know really anyone.
I had this small, black, fake leather purse. It was one I carried for years. But I had gone through the phase of putting button-pins on it, and it got all ripped up. It was pretty unfixable. I really needed a new purse, but being a teenager, I was broke. I figured what the heck, I'd make a new one myself. Plus, I hated store bought purses because they are either ugly, too small or too big, or didn't have enough pockets. I looked around in my closet for something to use.
I found a Skelanimals black-and-red hoodie that was too weird shaped to wear. So I cut it up and made it into a purse. To be honest, it looked so amateur that I was kind of embarrassed to use it. But for some reason, people thought I bought it at a store. I was like, 'Um...no? Look at the seams! At the design!'
But still. It was admired. I got sick of the goth-looking purse, so I did some research and cut up some jeans, got a bucket of bleach, sewing supplies and an old dress for the liner. This purse I hand sewed. I have gone over it with my sewing machine (which I didn't have until a few months ago), and its way stronger. It turned out to be the best purse I've ever had. I still carry it around every day, its NEVER broken, never ripped, and barely worn at all.

Tie dying was something that I had never done before. I always admired the craft, but I never had the money for the dye. When I figured out that you can use bleach, I got inspired. After I made my personal purse, I have gotten many compliments and requests for one just like it. But like anything else, I can't duplicate it exactly. I've tried! But in trying to duplicate it, I have learned new techniques and things that work better. I've grown in my craft, and people have actually bought my purses and loved them. One of my best friends has one of them, and she wants another!

I don't know, but I call these purses my art. It really surprises me that people actually LIKE my stuff, but I've always heard that artists never like their work when their finished. I guess I'm just like that!

I have so many ideas for purses in my head that I have no idea how to put into real life. I'm excited for the future and where my business goes. I hope it grows and gets better and more professional, more loved, and appreciated. The future holds so much, I need to stop thinking about it so much and sit back and watch it reveal itself. :)
