Announcement   Thank you for visiting my shop. Although I am primarily a fine art painter I like to work with many different materials. My mother and Grandmother were both quilters and crochet artist. I named my shop Embrygirl in honor of my maternal blood line. Mom taught me to crochet when I was seven. Around the age of eleven I learned to knit and to this day enjoy combining the two. Working with a variety of materials is fun and challenging for me.
I am also a collector of stuff and am always looking for interesting items to sell. Visit my shop often. You never know what I'll find or create next.

About

Born to make beautiful things.

I come from a long line of creative women. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother were all crochet and quilt artists. Although they valued the work that they did they would not have called themselves artists. I have proudly bestowed the title upon them because I know what goes into the making of a quilt or a crocheted table cloth.
It was from their beautiful quilts that I learned color and design. They are my role models and silent mentors, and I am so grateful to them all for sharing their gifts with me.
Also, I am a lover of all things vintage. I frequent garage sales, thrift stores and vintage shops looking for interesting and inexpensive items. I like to live with them for a while before making them available for sale in my shop. The cottage style really appeals to me, and there is nothing more delightful to me than a good cup of tea served in a beautiful cup from a lovely tea pot. I'd say that makes me a true home body! Yes, Indeed!
