Announcement   ♦ Visit aliciadabney.com to view my full portfolio and background. Effective August 2017: Elements & Artifacts will shift from large collections to smaller but hopefully more frequent clusters of concept-based jewelry while I earn my Master's in art therapy psychology. Life is change, growth is optional, and it is my hope that my creative work will continue to develop in the coming years. I look forward to this time of transition and transformation. Stay tuned, for I do not intend to leave E&A behind!

Elements & Artifacts celebrates its 12th year on Etsy in 2017. Thank you so much for your love and support over the years.

♠ NEWS: My Just Be Still necklace was selected for use by the designer of the hit TV show "Bones" and appeared in season 12, episode 4 (January 2017). Other TV appearances include my Indigo Hour necklace on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, Episode 5 (November 2016) and my Midnight earrings in Season 6, Episode 8 (November 2014). Stay tuned for even more TV appearances.

♣ CUSTOM ORDERS by their nature are given extra time and attention. As such, I only take them at certain intervals each year or under special circumstances. I will often give advance notice that I'm forming a custom order queue via Facebook and my blog or you may inquire by email/Convo.

♠ REMAKES of sold items are frequently possible and are differentiated from actual custom pieces, so please inquire if something you love has been sold. I will do my best to secure supplies for a remake and quote a turnaround time.

About

Layered Meanings

My work is often presented as collections with overarching themes—often holding stories of myth and magic, symbols, motifs found in nature and in life, the moon and stars, or the elements.

I love layered meanings. I seek to offer inspired treasures that are distinctive and eye-catching on the surface, but can also offer a deeper personal meaning, even if it's as simple as a connection with a certain legend from childhood stories. I love observing the ebb and flow of the year and its seasons. I love the rise and fall of light between summer and winter. These things add a touch of magic to my life and, in turn, I pour that into my creations.

I am a fine artist turned graphic designer and jewelry artist. I have been creating jewelry in some form or another since 2005 and Elements & Artifacts is entirely run by yours truly. I am mostly self-taught but own a vast library of giant jewelry textbooks which serve as reference (and the occasional sanity-check) for the more advanced techniques.

Flowing between art, design, and jewelry is a strange creature but each one lends itself to the others to create one unified picture. I also do contemporary dance and ballet; dancing fuels my art and art fuels my dancing. The bottom line is that I create. I communicate in shapes and colors and textures and lines rather than in words.

This is my heart and soul, an ongoing visual timeline of my thoughts and inspirations. I hope my creations bring you a touch of beauty and joy.

I create. No matter the form of art—design, illustration, jewelry, contemporary dance—I communicate in shapes and colors and lines rather than words. There are so many stories to be told, and I am both listening and seeking ways to share them.
