My name is Elina Gleizer, Designer, Goldsmith, Mother. 35 years old, Based in Israel.
I believe that you can be empowered by an object, in the idea that objects are more than just their physical properties. In fact, they are emotional and we have an emotional connection to them.
You can be wearing the reminder of the quality and self-expression you aspire for.
My focus and inspiration come from cubism and illustrative shapes from the animal kingdom, as our mindset is already hotwired to their merits and character.
The design process begins with a sketch, objects are analyzed, broken up, and reassembled in an abstracted form. I translate the sketch to planes and geometric solids. As a fan of traditional metal craftsmanship, I feel that through hand carving wax, my design can be more accurate and evolved.
Creating these Wearable sculptures in the shapes of realistic figures with known motifs you can connect and identify with, the ring you are wearing becomes an extension of yourself, like it's a part of you, and you just have this deep attachment to it.
I look at them as temporary tattoos that tell a story about ourselves, about who we are, and whom we want to be.
