Announcement   Our Story:

elpis&wood creates beautifully crafted furniture and décor made purely from salvaged wood. Most of the wood originates from our corner of America — the backroads and mills of the Pacific Northwest.

When you browse our online catalog or visit our wood shop/studio (which we
encourage), you’ll notice that the tables aren’t perfect. They’re dotted with knots, twists, and curved edges. But like so many other things in life, those imperfections lead to a perfect story: A story of reclamation and redemption.

Being active in the our own community, we pass on that good fortune and spirit to others. We donate a percentage of our sales to those who we feel align
themselves with our story of reclamation.

Philanthropy is an important part of elpis&wood, but the furniture is our top focus. And whichever piece you choose, you also get something free — a conversation starter.

Bring our work into your home and you’ll immediately notice that it attracts attention from guests. In a great way. Because each piece is so unique, and its provenance makes a great story you can tell. The history and character of reclaimed wood furniture, and your choice to embrace it, speaks volumes about what you truly appreciate both in your home and in our world.

Our Philosophy:

elpis&wood crafts unique furniture and decor from one-of-a-kind reclaimed wood pieces. Some people “see” objects in the natural patterns, cuts and knots formed in each piece. At elpis&wood, we see ourselves. We see our community. We see a world where what seems useless and discarded can be brought to life again with impeccable craftsmanship and intentionality.

Perfect. The bench delivered is simply beautiful in every way. Working with Blake and Matt was enjoyable and easy throughout the process, and it they made it incredibly easy to pick the right slab (and say no to the one's that didn't fit our style). Highest recommendation for Elipsis!

I'm very pleased with the bench that I ordered. I had a difficult small space, so a custom piece was a great solution. Blake was always prompt with communication, and we had a great phone call to nail down some details as well. The piece itself looks great, with high quality finish. It arrived very well packaged, with almost entirely recyclable materials. Definitely happily recommend this company!

About

A few guys crafting original furniture and trying to do some good in the world.

Being active in the our own community, we pass on that good fortune and spirit to others. We donate a percentage of our sales to those who we feel align themselves with our story of reclamation, like Cocoon House, who helps at-risk youth. And we created Desk4Desk.com, a program in process whose goal is to provide desks forschoolchildren in Malawi for each desk we sell.

Philanthropy is an important part of elpis&wood, but the furniture is our top focus. And whichever piece you choose, you also get something free — a conversation starter.

elpis&wood was formed with a simple mission in mind; design, build, donate.

The Greek word “elpis” means more than simply “hope”, but “the desire for something good with full expectation of obtaining it.”

We make beautiful, unique and practical handcrafted furniture using salvaged, up-cycled or reclaimed materials whenever possible. We are proud to offer unique and useful works of decor art that go beyond function and extend hope to others. Hope begins its work as we donate a portion of sales proceeds to a non-profit and offer employment to marginalized and disenfranchised young adults in Snohomish County.

Our goal at elpis&wood is to take something of little or no value in its present form and transform it into something meaningful and functional. With our hands and imaginations we give things a second life. This narrative plays beautifully into our goal to collaborate with non-profits who share the same vision, but with people, by giving them the opportunity for a second chance.

Shipping
We've been busy! Thank you to our fine clients!

We're currently about 1-2 weeks out on shipping due to this recent fluctuations in business and custom orders.

Every out of area order has a handling fee to cover some cost of materials and time involved to make a custom shipping crate for your order.
Refunds and Exchanges
As a whole we don't like making these because they seem so unfriendly, but in case you were wondering here it is........
We will gladly take a return within 10 days of receiving the table. Shipping costs would not be refundable and return shipping costs would be the responsibility of the customer. A refund of the remainder will be issued contingent upon the product being received in its original condition. There are no returns on completed custom projects.
Custom Orders:
1. If you wish to cancel and we have in no way modified the slab then $200 is considered a non refundable deposit. This must be done within two weeks of the purchase date or the whole deposit is non refundable.
2. If the piece of wood has been cut to meet the specifications of the order then there is no refund or cancellation of the order.
Additional policies and FAQs
We do an enormous amount of special orders and customizations so don't be afraid to inquire if something you see does not suit your needs.
If you are local we would be glad to make an appointment for you to come by our humble studio shop.
