About

Past Patterns Reborn

I’ve been a creative kid all my life, at least that’s the story my parents tell. So when I graduated from college opening a store on Etsy seemed like a great thing to do. I sew, I sell, I win. Right? I soon found it was not that simple. Just because I wanted to sew something didn’t mean anyone would want to buy it. Nothing I made generated interest and I struggled to find my niche. I eventually let my shop fall empty for over a year.
Then my Dad had his epiphany! I should make cowboy boots. Out of fabric. For babies. With his boot making background, my Dad drafted me a miniature cowboy boot pattern. Several prototypes later I had figured out how to translate a leather pattern to fabric and your “Baby’s 1st Cowboy Boots” were born.
I am so excited to be able to offer a unique child's accessory as well as a memento to parents long after their child’s tiny feet have grown. Using the 4 inch boots as my parameters has given focus to my creativity allowing it to grow and flourish. Plus, who doesn’t love those cute little baby shoes!

Selling my vintage patterns just happened one day when I was trolling Etsy. I am so happy to be able to share my love of sewing and history with others! I have more patterns than I can use in one lifetime and it is exciting to see them fly around the world to make others happy. I believe sewing is a useful skill we all should learn to some degree. Using patterns from our past teaches us our history and helps us create a beautiful future. Just look at where they have taken me!
My days are now filled with sorting, counting, and photographing patterns. When I get tired of that I cut, sew and photograph new baby boots. Life is a journey and we aren't always sure where the road is taking us. I am so delighted creativity, sewing and sharing them with others gets to be a part of mine.
Happy Sewing!
