About

Put a flower in your hair and be your best, beautiful, happy self!

In a nutshell, I am "hapa". Strongly influenced by my mom, I've always identified with the Japanese half in me and wanted to recreate something beautiful in a traditional style with my own hands.

Bira bira kanzashi stuck out in my mind because I remember being 5 or 6 years old when I participated in my first obon festival. I wore a yukata for the first time, got to wear lipstick, and my mom put my hair up in a fancy ponytail. She then took out the special bira bira kanzashi that my grandparents sent to us from Japan. I remember thinking they sounded so pretty and looked so sparkly. I don't remember this, but my mom tells me that even though my friends hadn't arrived yet I insisted on doing the bon dance all by myself. I guess you could say that was my first dance performance ever.

Dance has definitely been the greatest passion in my life. Kanzashi are attached to that beautiful memory of the first experience I've ever had with dancing.

Just know that only happy thoughts are running through my head while I create beautiful hair accessories for you. :)
