Small, creative business
After leaving behind a passion for drawing, painting & general arty crafty fun to follow another passion of mine- biology and environmental sciences, I found myself craving a creative outlet. I pursued my old love of drawing and painting landscapes & still lifes, whilst experimenting with detailed abstract paper collage. It was fantastic!
My then fiance and I, then decided to start a family. We moved towns & jobs to plan a wedding & be closer to our families. After having our beautiful daughter Ivy in 2013, I was really wanting to contribute financially to our little family after quitting my job and putting creative pursuits on hold to focus on being a mum & wife. However finding big chunks of time to sit & paint/collage was no longer possible. Then during an early morning wake/feed, I was admiring beautiful jewellery on pinterest when I came across polymer clay and had a lightbulb moment! Within two weeks, I had hand rolled a couple of hundred beads & was getting very excited about the possibilities for making beautiful, unique jewellery! I'm really looking forward to balancing motherhood & a small creative business! Thank you for taking the time to read my Embellish story!
