Announcement Hello and welcome! I have been absent from this space for a long time as my creative endeavors led me into the wild world of camper renovating. Creating softies still brings me joy though, and I am planning on making several to list here soon!

I sent this to my cousin who just adopted a baby and they love it! My brother and sister-in-law gave our son a Henry the Deer when he was born and now my son gifts these loveys to his cousins whenever a new baby joins the family. Love all these sweet creations!

My 3 yr old raccoon-obsessed nephew loves his new stuffed raccoon! Sized perfectly for preschooler hands. Incredibly soft quality and a personal handmade feel. Wonderful, friendly service too. Will shop here again 😁

My purchase was originally mixed up with that of another customer's. The seller was wonderful about the whole thing and immediately sent the otter. Her work is great and the customer service is a plus. Thank you!

When my son was born, my brother and his wife sent him a Henry the Deer animal and we all have treasured it! When we found out our cousin was pregnant, we knew we had to get a lovey from this lovely shop and it is perfect! Can't wait for our newest cousin to enjoy it for years to come 😊

My daughter (10 months old) loves this foxy! Her face lights up whenever she sees it, and it always calms her down. It even helped us to sleep train her, which is worth it's weight in gold. It's been through the wash a few times and it's kept it's shape and stitching. This is our second foxy, just in case we lose the beloved first one!

I sent this adorable rattle as a baby shower present and it was a hit!
Out of the Woods
How did you start your shop?
It all started....
I have sewn my whole life, ever since my Granma Shirley taught me to sew when I was six. A few years ago, when I was nannying 60 hrs. a week I started making soft toys when the kids slept. It woke up a curiosity, a joy, and eventually a passion in me for making beautiful, unique, and quality toys for kids!
What is your process?
I begin creating by imagining a toy and drawing it over and over again till I am satisfied with it. Then I turn it into a pattern and start playing with it. I make a first draft and see how I like it and then, usually, make at least a second, third, and fourth draft before I'm satisfied! I choose the fabric from my stock of organic, hand-dyed, and/or recycled fabric. I use the sewing machine to make the base of the animal or doll and then hand-sew all the finishing details, like the embroidered faces, hair, and other special details.
What is your vision?
When I was a kid I played outside in the woods for hours each day. I believed in multiple worlds that touched each other and if I could find the right doors I could step into places full of magic and wonder. My toys were such a huge part of that magic. Because of that I place tremendous importance on the toys we give to kids. They should encourage imagination, be one-of-a-kind, and should be eco-friendly and safe. I also think that having handmade toys lets kids know it's possible to create whatever they can imagine! I got the idea for the world of Emergolde after a solo camping trip in the woods. After I saw the gold color of the sunlight breaking through the emerald green tones of the trees I became inspired with the name Emergolde!
I am Elizabeth, the imagination and stitcher behind Emergolde! I'm passionate about protecting the joy of childhood and about helping encourage imaginative play in children of all ages. Making stuff helps me feel closer to the Creator!
