EmmaJLock's Shop Announcement

Wishing everyone a wonderful colour filled 2013 and a massive huge thankyou for all your amazing support and custom. I feel lucky to have a job i love as much as I do!

When I was very small drawing and painting was always a sense of comfort and pleasure to me, I was always walking around outside or sat in my bedroom with a notepad and watercolour set. I try to use colour and texture to translate how a scene or an object makes me feel or simplify its beauty. I am a 36 year old mum of 3 and I have recently returned to painting after a break and my children now love painting and drawing as I do and we often paint together.

I refound my creative passion after completing a design course at university and now can not stop painting :-). I have always struggled with reading and literature and although I always had my head in an art book growing up I have just discovered I am dyslexic and my tests also show I have a very high skill for visual recognition maybe that is why I love creating art so much and viewing it also. I am now studying art and visual culture so hopefully will gain a deeper understanding of art throughout the years as i have always loved spending hours in galleries immersing myself. This is a new collection of paintings created since June 2012 I have been exploring the beauty of nature including flowers and landscapes an how I feel when I am faced with such beauty.

I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I have enjoyed dreaming them up and creating them. I will add more as I create them . All my paintings are in Acrylic, oil, watercolour, pastels or graphite on canvas or high quality artist grade papers and are originals.I have received recent commissions where customers have asked for a specific size or view to be painted I am always happy to discuss a particular piece in advance so please contact me xx

I have a 2 week exhibition running from Sept 14-28 th at the stunning Lowther Castle as part of Cumbria's fantastic C-Art initiative and also have several upcoming exhibitions including London's Brick lane gallery and some closer to home (dates to be confirmed).

I am an active supporter of the local Hospice and Hospice at home and donated two paintings in May to be auctioned for the Hospice at home and on the 21st June will be completing a sponsored 10 km to raise money for the Hospice. This charity means a massive amount to me personally as I lost my best friend to Cancer in December and the Hospice took brilliant care of her when she needed it.
I am happy to arrange collection in person when paying in cash. I remain owner all of all copyrights to all my paintings as creator and owner of Emmajlock. All my paintings are original one offs unless otherwise stated Thankyou xx
