  • Making soundboard Christmas ornaments
  • Candles for the Christmas trees (made from key pins) have been dipped in wax, painted, and dipped again.
  • Every piece has to be cleaned. Sometimes they get a scrub in the sink, and sometimes they get a dry brush.
  • Taking the action apart is dirty & tedious work, as there are hundreds of screws & years of dust inside each piano.
  • Sometimes I find a rare and precious jewel, such as these bell-shaped pieces that have been in only 1 piano so far.

    I began taking piano lessons at the age of 11 and played my first church offertory 3 months later. Now, nearly four decades later, I'm still a church pianist. Some would say it's in my blood. Preserving old pianos in art form is in my blood too.
