Love what you do, and do what you love

***What We Do***

We don't just make jewellery – we make memories out of sterling silver. Keepsakes, treasures - love in material form.

We make a woman feel effortlessly beautiful and classy. We make a man feel proud to wear a symbol of love and dedication on his hand.

We make a gift that your daughter, mother, aunt, sister, best friend, husband, wife, lover, sweetheart... or you (because we all deserve to give ourselves gifts as often as we can) can keep and cherish for a lifetime.

From our hands to yours, with love. That is a promise.

***Why We Do It***

Our core values – in business and in life – are freedom, quality, fun, and passion.

We deeply value the freedom running our own microbusiness gives us – from setting our own hours, commuting from one room to the next, stopping to share lunch together every day, taking days off when the weather is good to get outside for a hike or a kayak, to just the pure pleasure of knowing we are the master and mistress of our own destiny each and every day.

We value the freedom that it gives us to make each and every order specifically and specially for you and you alone – in the size, style, and timeframe that you need. There are no stock pieces in this studio. You order – we make YOUR jewellery for you alone.

We value quality – in the delicious and (mostly!) healthy food we eat, the handmade and preloved clothes we wear, and the way we spend our limited time on this earth.

We obsess about the quality of our work – from the moment your order hits our inbox to the moment you tell us you've received it safe and sound. We carefully craft each and every piece of jewellery by hand, using techniques both ancient and modern, to an extremely high standard. If it's not as perfect as we can make it, we do it again (and again) until it is before it leaves our hands for yours.

We value fun – from watching sci-fi and action movies on a Friday night while eating our favourite takeout (we're simple folk!), playing with our cats, jumping on the trampoline (it's not just for kids...), playing whatever music takes our fancy as we work at home - barefoot - with the occasional dancing break for me.

We love wrapping up each piece of jewellery with a ribbon and a handwritten message – imbuing the joy we feel in our life and work in every piece we send out.

All of this is done with passion. Joie de vivre. Because we wake up every day and live a life we love.

The passion we have for life translates to the passion we have for our work – because the two things are enmeshed, entwined, and feed each other. Without the gift of our work, we couldn't live this life we adore. Without the gift of our gorgeous customers, there would be no Epheriell.

YOU are the one who allows us to live this life we love every day.

We belive the purpose of life is to LIVE it – every single day – to love what you do, and do what you love.

Thank you for being a part of the story of our life.

***Who We Are***

Jess Van Den + Nick Bianchi - partners in marriage and making.

I (Jess) am the designer, email-answerer, maker, and marketer. Nick is the packer, bookkeeper, maker, and the one who keeps my feet on the ground (and keeps me fed, too).

I grew up around Brisbane, Australia - Nick hails from Southampton in England. We met when he was backpacking here in 2007 and I was working as a science communicator for the Queensland Museum... and through a rather long story of happenstance, luck, love, and creative discovery, we now we live and work together running Epheriell in a solar-powered home studio in the countyside just north of Brisbane.

Nick and I love to travel - we've got a Transit Van that we converted from an empty shell into a campervan called 'The Luggage', and we often take little - and big! - trips all over Australia. We also love hiking (we recently spent a month road-tripping in the USA via all the West Coast National Parks) and kayaking. I also rely on my daily yoga practice to stay happy and healthy. We've recently purchased a gorgeous Vespa scooter (named Ephie!) which we use to deliver your jewellery to the post office.

When we're not working, you'll probably find us reading our kindles (Jess), gaming (Nick) cuddling our two cats (Gobbolino and Sir Teddington) and spending time somewhere outside on our multi-acre country property.

I (Jess) also run the website CreateAndThrive.com - which helps people learn how to turn their handmade hobby into a successful full-time online business. You can read the blog and listen to my weekly podcast about handmade business there.

Life is sweet.

Frequently asked questions

TRACKING IS NOT INCLUDED WITH YOUR ORDER unless explicitly stated in the listing - and then, it will only be within Australia.

International Orders: Australia Post does not include tracking with the Economy Large Letter service I use to ship your items.

There are 2 upgrade options available - 'Standard' Parcel Post, which includes a reduced shipping timeframe & tracking; or 'Express' Parcel Post, which includes an even faster shipping time & tracking.

If you'd like to know the cost of either/both upgrade options prior to ordering, please convo me.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Items are shipped in a bubble mailer envelope.

Each item is housed in a card holder, and gift-wrapped. This flat-packing method saves considerable shipping costs.

Larger items are placed in a cardboard gift box and wrapped with a ribbon.

Missing Items

If your package does not turn up within the expected timeframe, please contact me and I will do my best to rectify the situation!

**However, please be aware that I don't consider a parcel 'lost' in the post until it has been a full 30 days from the date of shipping, and I will not replace an item sooner than this.**

We've instituted a fast-track fee for any customer who would like their order made faster than our regular turn-around time. If you would like to upgrade to fast-track (turn-around of 1-2 days, rather than 5+), please contact me prior to purchase.

The fee is $25 USD. We instituted this fee because - to be fair to all our customers - we don't allow any customer to 'jump the queue'. Instead, if you need your order faster than normal, we actually work overtime hours to get it done.

*** RING PURCHASES *** Can I Return a Ring if it is the Wrong Size?

Due to the fact that your ring is a custom design - made to your size - I cannot refund your purchase or accept a return because you gave me the wrong size or simply change your mind.

This is in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. It is your responsibility to give me the correct size.

I charge $35 USD per ring (plus postage) for resizing of my wedding and simple sterling silver bands (stacking sets are more).

So, please make sure to take the time to work out your exact size. Most local jewellers' shops will happily size your finger for you at no charge. I can re-size down as far as necessary, BUT CAN ONLY RESIZE UP ONE FULL US SIZE.

*** Ring Sizing ***

For all the info you need to know on ring sizing:

If you receive your wedding band and decide you want a different style or width, I offer a 25% discount on purchase of the new ring IF you return the old one to me.

As above, we charge for resizing if the original size you gave us was incorrect. If we made an error in sizing (i.e. you gave us a size but we didn't make to that size) we resize for free.

***How to Care for your Sterling Silver***

Sterling silver jewellery naturally takes on a blackish tarnish over time in reaction with air.

When you receive your piece of sterling jewellery it may have black tarnish spots - these are easily removed!

You can either buy a silver-cleaning cloth, or simply use some toothpaste on a cloth or brush - gently rub at the tarnish, then wash and dry to bring back the super-shine!

As stated above, we don't accept returns on rings.

However, if you have ordered a pair of standard earrings or a non-custom necklace, we will accept a return on these items if unworn, and will refund the full purchase price (less shipping) when we receive them in original condition.
