As it sits in front of me, right now at my desk, I get to experience the beauty of nature in a small way through your skillful hands at the same moment realizing the importance of your charitable giving through Oxfam. It makes me feel good in so many ways. With thanks!

About

ERIC REEVES, woodturner and philanthropist

All proceeds from all sales benefit the courageous work of OXFAM AMERICA in Darfur and South Sudan, a region of terrible suffering and on the verge of famine. (See http://www.oxfamamerica.org/take-action/artists-for-oxfam/)

Eric Reeves has been a serious woodturner for over twenty years, returning in "middle age" to a craft art he began as a boy. After a five year hiatus because of medical challenges, he is again turning seriously, specializing in inlay work, hollow forms, bowls with ogee profiles and lidded vessels with more and less elaborate finials. He works chiefly with burl wood and exotics. His work is represented in a number of galleries around the country (www.EricReeves-woodturner.com).

Eric is also a dedicated advocate for peace and justice in the tortured African country of Sudan (now two countries). As part of his effort, he donates all gallery and other profits to humanitarian organizations working for the extraordinarily distressed populations of north and south Sudan. His advocacy work is archived at www.sudanreeves.org.

Shop policies

Last updated on July 20, 2015
Welcome to my woodturning "shop," where I have made available for purchase some of my best woodturnings at what I think are very reasonable prices, given the quality of the woods used and the amount of labor (of all sorts) required to produce a finished piece.

Further, all profits from all sales are donated to
OXFAM AMERICA
for their extraordinarily important work in Darfur and South Sudan.

Shipping
I will ship orders Priority Mail (USPS) in one to three business days after receiving payment for an order. All packing is highly secure, and no damage should be possible in transit. All woodturnings come with an artist's "three-panel" card, a card on care, and a separate, individual description of the piece purchased (woods, including botanical name of the primary wood, design, and a few brief remarks about the turning.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will refund fully the cost of any piece lost or damaged in the mail; I will fully refund the cost of any piece that has been accidentally mischaracterized (woods, dimensions, forms) on my Etsy site. I cannot provide a refund for pieces that are simply aesthetically disappointing: I provide a description (including dimensions) as well as several of the most revealing photographs possible for each turning. There is a very small "profit" margin with prices as low as those (in the main) that I charge for my work, and I can't absorb packing and mailing costs of pieces that arrive as they appear on the site.
Additional policies and FAQs
SOUTH SUDAN is one of the most dangerous places in the world for children, and no one if working harder in this deeply threatening environment than OXFAM AMERICA. It is one of the few organizations providing psychosocial assistance to traumatized children and whatever rudiments of education can be offered in these distress circumstances. OXFAM AMERICA also assists with food and medical issues, with particular attention to malnutrition among children under five years of age.
