I came up with the idea to build my son a theme bed for when he transitions out of a toddler bed, so he could have a "cool" big kid's bed. We started by sitting together at the computer and looking through pictures to find an idea that he likes. He decided on a tractor bed, and we were on our way!

So, over the next couple of weeks I designed his new bed in CAD. As an engineer, I have a strong background in design, and laying it all out so I have drawings to follow is what comes natural to me.

Once the design was done, his big sisters and I went to work on it! They painted while I handled the cutting and fitting together. It was a fun family time. When it was finished, he loved it! He likes to turn the lights on and off, and make tractor noises as he turns the steering wheel!

The idea for my Etsy shop came when I noticed that every time I looked at a picture of a neat bed, there would be several comments asking for plans to build it. However, there aren't many bed designs out there. I enjoy designing things, and hopefully this is an avenue for me to share my skills with others!

There will be more designs coming soon. Other designs I have in mind are dog houses, sheds, and more bed concepts. I am open to ideas, so if you have something in mind you'd like to see a design for please contact me.
