Using the sale of Fair Trade bags from Nicaragua to help Light The World

Esperanza means hope in Spanish. The Esperanza Market partners with artisans in Nicaragua to provide handmade bags that represents economic development and hope. We use Fair Trade practices, which means working directly with artisans and paying not just minimum wages, but living wages based on Nicaraguan economic indicators.

I love traveling throughout Latin America and interacting with the people who make great textile work such as messenger bags, funky purses and yoga bags. I started my Etsy Shop the Esperanza Market to bring my best travel finds to you.

As a way to say Thank You to my host countries, I will donate a solar-powered lamp to a child who lives without electricity with each purchase off my site. Millions of people in Latin America live without reliable electricity, which means they spend up to 12 hours a day in the dark. I want to use my shop to help but a dent in those numbers. So shop often and spread the word to your friends and family!
