Announcement   LATEST NEWS: CHINA SALE NOW ON I have decided to stop producing my up-cycled china pieces and instead focus on my illustrative work (such as my A-Z range of prints which I am in the process of expanding). This means there are some GREAT BARGAINS to be had in my Etsy shop right now. Don't delay as each item is unique and once it's sold, it's sold ... I won't be creating any more china pieces except on commission.

Thanks so much for visiting my shop, I hope you like the work. Everything is hand made/drawn by me. I don't use transfers or other people to manufacture my pieces.
All the ceramic items, photos and imagery are found or purchased at second hand and charity shops, boot fairs and flea markets. I want to mix the old treasure and narratives these items possess with the new story I layer onto them. It's also a little bit good for the world to use these discarded items of others, re-invent and renew them to fill our homes anew.
I believe that special things created with care have the potential to add to your home and personal story and get swept up in your life long possessions, becoming a little bit of who we are. I'm an old romantic at heart -- can you tell?

For my latest news, check out my website and regular blog at: www.esthercoombs.com.
If you would like to receive information about new work and upcoming shows, join my e-mailing list on the site.

(PS Go to http://britishcreamtea.etsy.com for the most fabulous recycled felt cakes and goodies to display on your cake stands - made by another fab British artist!)

Hey!

Thanks for visiting my Etsy shop. I really hope you like to look and maybe want to buy a piece of my work.

I've always drawn things on paper, light, ceramics, small pieces of furniture and when I was little, to my mum's disappointment, everything I could!

Drawing is the only thing I've ever felt a real affinity to. You know when there's that thing that never fails you, you go to in all times of your life, that helps you communicate who you are and what's right for you in the world, when you're desperately unhappy or filled with joy...

And for as long as I can remember I have wanted others to want to see my drawings and want them in their lives, having your work invited into someone else's home is the biggest compliment any designer/artist/maker can receive...

So here in this little space I'm doing that -- putting it out there and seeing if people take me up on it, and every time someone does it's wonderful...

No, really it's wonderful!!!

So some info points:

All my drawings are done by me straight onto the items. I don't use transfers, I don't have others make my work. I want to be every part of the process so I choose the china, do the sketch, choose the pieces to work together then make it happen.

I love using what others have discarded -- there's so much unwanted waste today which need not be so and I want to make those things alive again.

I welcome invitations to exhibit, do drawing or design work freelance and work to commission. Just drop me a convo.

Yours
Esther

Accepted payment methods

Payment
I accept Pay Pal in the first instance this is my favored method of payment so quick and easy!

I can accept cheques but they muct be in (£) pounds sterling,
the charges on international cheque's are terrible!! Please convo me if you intend to pay in this way.

I can also accept bank transfers and I'm happy to provide my details for transfers to me on request after an order is placed, again all transfer fees must be covered by the buyer.
Shipping
I have quoted a shipping price with each item, For this price I will ship as fast and safely as possible.

Internationally and at home (UK) I use a signed for service with insurance as fast as possible for the price.

As all my items are different in size and shape your particular item maybe a few pounds more or less than the quoted postage price but I try to get it as close as possible.

the postage price includes packaging.

I have included discounted prices on shipping if you choose to purchase more than 1 item in one transaction.

If you have any special postage requirements please convo me before the sale and i will let you know what I can do.

If an item cost significantly less than the quoted postage price to send I will be happy to offer you a credit against my shop for your next purchase or a refund to your pay pal account.
Refunds and Exchanges
If the item is faulty please contact me by convo as soon as you realise and I will endevor to resolve this issue with you as best as I can.

If the item breaks in transit the insurance will cover the cost of your purchase and the claim for re-inbursemnet must be taken up with the carrier themselves.

If the item is not to your liking, you have changed your mind or the person the gift is for dose not like it, I'm sorry this is not grounds for a refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
A lot of my items are made with old china which can be very fragile.

I make every effort to produce safe secure items and post them according to there fragile nature.

All items should be lifted carefully by the bottom and especially in the case of the cake stands never by the top piece/tier.

They are constructed for every day use but all of my items must be hand washed only!
