DIY Freak, Jeweler , Appraiser & Designer

A little bit about me...
I'm Greek American from New York. I started working in the Antique Jewelry business on Madison Ave. for a third generation jewelry store. I was lucky enough to have been mentored by not one but three Antiques Roadshow Jewelry Appraisers.

After Graduating from Queens College my husband and I relocated to San Francisco. I landed a job managing a well established, boutique, custom and designer jewelry store in Cow Hollow. Moving to a more corporate environment as the Merchandise Manager for the oldest jewelry store in San Francisco I decided to go back to my roots and work in the Antique jewelry business and consult for various stores in San Francisco, which I still do. It was a choice I made based on ethics and my love to reuse and recycle whatever I can.

I am a bit on the OCD side and I am meticulous when I catalogue and grade the pieces I buy and sell. I like to wear the pieces when they are done so I can troubleshoot any issues, like if the earring does not sit comfortably or face in the appropriate direction, hence many of my earrings have a right and a left side. I predominantly use recycled and old materials to manufacture in the jewelry I sell and when I do not, it is always sourced using Ethical Sourcing and Fair Trade Practices.

I know the intricacies of making jewelry and have designed custom jewelry for many years. I do wire wrapping and fun crafts on my own but much of my restoration and repairs are done by various master bench jewelers that specialize in techniques such as enameling, hand chasing and hand fabrication. Most restoration work uses a laser welder because of the difficulty in damaging other areas of the antique pieces and gemstones.

When I'm not working with jewelry, I am constantly working with my hands. You will find me knitting or crocheting, sewing fabrics that I reuse or recycle, gardening, volunteering at various organizations from giving gardens to community events and spending time with my family.

Thanks for listening to my story and I hope you like what you see!!!
