I first got interested in hydroponics during the first part of the pandemic. I started learning all of the different ways you can grow in water and became an enthusiast. I started growing herbs with the Kratky and Wick methods but I wanted to start growing bigger things like vegetables. There was no good way to grow larger plants and vegetables in mason jars.

I came up with a list of all the different features I wanted my lid to have. 1) A lid with a built-in net cup. 2) Easy opening arms for easy access to watering. 3) A place to insert a support pole to help seedlings grow straight. 4) A way to easily add a wick. 5) A way to add a water pump for a top feed system. 6) A way to allow different tubes and cords to go through the lid. 7) A way to block out sun from reaching the growing media. 8) A way to add an air stone.

After countless months and numerous fails, I finally was able to design and build the lid that I wanted that did everything I wanted.

I started growing my own herbs, vegetables and house plants in my new lid. And now I want others to be able to do the same thing!
