About

My Story

I love sewing but I also love knitting and spinning, these are my favorite hobbies. I wanted to contribute something to the fiber community and also be able to work from home doing something that I love.

I have enjoyed creating things for as long as I can remember. I come from a long line of crafters. My Mom and both of my sisters crocheted at some point, one even managed to knit but wasn't that fond of it. (gasp!) Both of my grandmothers were avid quilters & crocheters. My maternal grandmother always had a work on progress when it came to crochet. I don't ever remember going to her home and her not showing off her latest creations.

I think that my love of fibery goodness and the soothing sensation of the yarn drifting through my fingers and creating something had to have come from my Maternal Grandmother. No doubt. I learned to crochet as a child and would do so off and on through adulthood.

In 2007, I had an urge to learn to knit. I was determined. I found Youtube video tutorials and soaked up and practiced as much as I could. I knitted a cute teeny tiny little baby hat for my first project. My youngest little one had her newborn photos taken with the hat upon her little noggin. (and the cloth diapers I had sewn for her on her little bottom.) ;-) I was so proud. I could not stop knitting; it's one hobby I don't think I could ever give up. Here I am, five years later, and I enjoy knitting more than ever. I have since become a spinner, with the encouragement & help of a few online friends and some videos, I have learned to spin on my Kromski Minstrel spinning wheel. Yes, she has a name. Yes, it's silly and no, I don't care. :) Her name is Glenna, after my late Grandmother.
