ExClaymations!! Gifts for People You Love!

Port Townsend, Washington

Top shop for gifts.

Buyers bought gifts from this shop and gave them 5-star reviews!

Announcement    I started making these pins in 1993 with the idea that I wanted to offer people a gift item with a poem that would convey the affection they had for the people in their lives.

With that start, I sat down and wrote 17 angel poems. I then created angels and marketed them at local gift markets. They sold like nothing I had ever made before. People loved the sentiments and would often stand in my booth shedding tears while they filled their baskets.

The company grew until it had 75 employees and a manufacturing facility located in Modesto, California.

The newest line, the Color Heart line was created after my mother died in her sleep of a heart attack. I wondered, "If my mother had a color to her heart, what color would it be?" I decided it would be orange for all the joy and laughter she spread to all the people around her.

The Color Heart line has been my most popular line since it was created six months after my mother's death. I dedicate the line to her and donate a portion of each sale to research for heart disease.

My goal is always to offer products that make people smile and do some good in the world.

There are some definite products with a political lean, but many products that go to causes we can all support. (heart disease, cancer research, humane society and the ACLU (don't knock it, someday you may need it!) )

I am fairly new on Etsy, despite my shop being here since 2012. I have not been an active vendor here.

I hope to build part of my business here and the other part at a gift shop near you. If you are a shop owner, please contact me for prices and information. I will be putting a catalogue together soon.

If you want to support an artist, but don't want any more products, please Venmo me @poetivity. The money is used for advertising and to keep producing despite the shutdown.

My business has dropped to about $100 a month since the Virus. Any purchase or help is deeply appreciated.

Thank you.

About ExClaymations

Sales 257
On Etsy since 2012

30 years and 100's of designs later....

I started making these pins when I was pregnant with my daughter in 1990. I am a member of the original HINTON family of ART TO WEAR. For ART TO WEAR, I created the 17 poems the angels were carded on.
For years, these pins were found in Hallmark stores or small gift shops all over the country.

Many of the designs you see were created by my mother, Jan Hinton. She died of a heart attack in her sleep at the youthful age of 66. I miss her terribly.

I have continued making jewelry through these years, though materials and processes have changed quite a bit.

Shortly after my mom passed, I was filling an order of hearts of random colors. As I sat painting them, I thought about Mom and thought about her heart. I asked myself, "if my mom's heart had a color, what color would it have been and why?"

The answer was orange. The poem for the orange heart was the first poem I wrote.

The seven other color heart poems came shortly after that.

Now, even though I have a professional other job, I still continue to make the pins.

I love the joy that they give people. I love the joy the heart pins spread as people give them as gifts.

Thank you for reading.
