About

Bring The River Home

Nisha Supahan started From the River Collective (FTRC) in October of 2010. FTRC is an online store featuring Northern California Indian artists (Karuk, Hupa, Yurok) who make quality art and products that are inspired by our Native background, culture and traditions. We have traditional items as well as many of the artists use old time technics, materials or designs to create contemporary pieces. To learn about these materials and designs visit "Our Traditional People" page: http://www.fromtherivercollective.com/Our_People.html

Nisha wanted to be able to sell the work of talented artists from her home town that may not have the ability to promote themselves or their amazing work. Whether it be time, money, or technology. We are from a rural area where not every household has a computer let alone internet access. I want the outside world to see how the people of the Klamath and Trinity Rivers have unique perspectives that are incorporated in to their creations.

We are working together to make a change for our tribes, community, and our families.

ABOUT ME: My name is Nisha Supahan I am Native American from the Karuk Tribe of California. Please visit our website for more information http://www.fromtherivercollective.com

I grew up among my people on and near the Hoopa Reservation in Northern CA. "From the River Collective" - is a collection of Northern California Indian Artists from the Klamath and Trinity Rivers in the Northern most part of California. We are using our talents and ideas to create unique gifts that are inspired by our traditional culture. I started this collective (there are many artists and crafters included in this shop) to feature the work of talented artists from my home that may not have the ability to promote their work. We are from a rural area where not every household has a computer let alone internet access. I have been trusted to be the bridge between the creations and the customer for these talented Native people. We are working together to make a change for our tribes, community, and our families.

New artists are joining frequently so please check back often and pass the word! Yootva! ("Thank You" in my Karuk Language).

Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS: We can do certain custom orders by request as long as the individual artist is willing. Items that the artist has deemed available for custom ordering are marked in each description. If you like something that isn’t marked as “available for custom” but you want to see it in certain colors or slight changes you can always contact me and I will pass it along to the artist. Custom orders can be done in three ways: 1. Directly working/communicating through FTRC as the middle person from start to purchase and shipping 2. A combination of working/communicating with the artist but purchasing and shipping through FTRC 3. A combination of working/communicating and purchasing through FTRC but shipping directly from the artists. Since we have many different artists, custom orders will be at the individual artists discretion. FTRC can not guarantee the work if it ships from the artist and FTRC is not responsible for the quality, professionalism, and timeframe that it may take to complete your custom order.
