About

From another world into your living room.

I've been drawing since I was old enough to hold a crayon. My art career began at a very young age, when I would set up a card table in the hallway of our house and sell my drawings of monsters and animals to my family for 5¢ and 10¢.

My interests haven't changed much! I like bringing creatures and characters to life and sharing them with others. I work primarily as a fantasy illustrator in the publishing industry. My clients include Wizards of the Coast, Inhabit Media, Carus Publishing and IMPACT Books. My artwork has appeared in a variety of books and magazines, including the New York Times Bestsellers "A Practical Guide to Dragons" and "A Practical Guide to Monsters." I wrote and illustrated "The Explorer's Guide to Drawing Fantasy Creatures," a how-to-draw book for creature enthusiasts of all ages. I've also lent my imagination to the tabletop gaming world as an illustrator for Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder.

I work out of my house near Seattle, Washington, in a studio space with a window facing our woodsy backyard, where I am inspired and entertained by the daily activities of the birds and squirrels who come to visit. I use traditional materials including pencil and paper, and gouache, which is a type of water-based paint. Using transparent painting mediums came more naturally to me during my years at art school, so I stuck with them. I also enjoy sculpting, though it's more of a hobby than a part of my freelance business. I'm always looking for new techniques and am interested in exploring new media.

I opened my Etsy shop because I wanted to bring my fantasy artwork out of the pages of books and into people's homes. Everything I offer in my shop has been drawn, painted, designed or printed by me or by Vinod. Each giclee print I sell is created in our studio on our Epson printer, with special attention paid to print quality and color matching to achieve a reproduction that matches the original painting as closely as possible. Each greeting card and note card is created in the same manner. Sketchbooks were edited and designed personally by either me or Vinod and printed in limited runs. I oversee everything and only sell things of a quality I would buy myself.

Whether you are buying a print or a one-of-a-kind original, I hope my items will make you feel as though you're peeking through a window into another world.

Returns and exchanges
I want to do my best to make you happy. Each item is handled personally with utmost care, and some items exist in a limited quantity or are one of a kind. Please contact me within one week if you have any questions or concerns. I generally do not offer refunds unless there has been a mistake with your order.
Payment
I prefer Paypal as a method of payment. Paypal orders must be paid for within 5 days.

I will also accept domestic money orders. I am sorry, but I no longer accept personal checks.

Items will be prepared for shipping once payment has been received.
Shipping
I will ship items within 1 week of receiving payment. (If you have selected a sketchbook that includes an original sketch, these sometimes take longer to ship, between 1-2 weeks at most.) For most items, I use USPS First Class or Priority Mail, but am happy to add any upgrades to your shipping services for an additional charge. Books typically ship domestically within the United States by Media Mail. I am happy to discuss alternate shipping options or answer any other questions you might have.

All items are packed with care. Flat art will ship with strong cardboard or backing boards and protected with acid-free plastic. Prints come bagged in acid-free plastic with a matboard backing.

I strongly recommend adding insurance to your shipping if you purchase original art at Fabled Earth Art. It is also a good idea when purchasing original art to have someone at home that can sign for the package so it isn't left in an area where it can be stolen or destroyed by the elements. I often use FedEx when shipping originals. If you buy an original piece of art and would like to discuss shipping options, please convo me for details.

Please bear in mind that buyers are also responsible for any customs fees, taxes, or other charges incurred during shipping. Please note that I cannot be held responsible for loss or damage during shipping, but please contact me if your order does not arrive within a reasonably expected amount of time.

Orders will be shipped to your Etsy address unless otherwise noted.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that the purchase of artwork does not transfer copyrights or the right to reproduce the artwork to the buyer. Copyrights to the work are retained by me or by the original publisher of the work.
