I hope you enjoy shopping with me, Fabric by the Yard! I specialize in the more contemporary designer fabrics for quilting and sewing. I am really loving the new home decor weight fabrics that are new on the market too! My favorite designers are Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner and Joel Dewberry. Enjoy looking - it is really all just eye candy! Feel free to convo me with custom requests or combined shipping inquiries.

Returns and exchanges
What if I change my mind? Is your fabric returnable?
-----Although I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, unfortunately I cannot accept returns on cut fabric. Thank you for your understanding.
I prefer PayPal, but you can pay by check or money order too. Just convo me and let me know so that I know when to expect payment.

Do I pay tax?
-----Only Washington State residents will be charged 8.9% sales tax during checkout.
Please, please feel free to convo me if your combined shipping charges seem too high. Sometimes when customers purchase many items, the shipping charges will be incorrect. I do try to refund you if you end up paying too much for shipping.

Some frequently asked questions about shipping:

When will my order ship?
-----I ship within 1-2 business days.

Do you ship internationally?
-----Yes. If you feel that the combined shipping costs of your order is incorrect, please contact me and I will recalculate it by the weight of what you have purchased. I prefer to use Priority International Envelopes because you get your packages so much faster this way.

What if my package is lost in the mail?
-----I am not responsible for lost packages once they are shipped. If you find yourself waiting for a package that never arrives, I can supply you with delivery confirmation information and customs details to help you find your package. Lost packages will not be reshipped or refunded, but you may want to file a claim with the post office. If you feel uncomfortable with this possibility then please request insurance during check out and I can insure your package for an additional shipping/handling fee.

How do you complete the customs forms?
-----I mark the contents as "other" and write in "fabric" under description of contents. I include the total value (cost in US dollars) of the fabric and the weight of the package on the customs form.
Additional policies and FAQs
What is a fat quarter?
-----A fat quarter is a half of a yard, cut in half the "fat" way. So if the fabric is 44" wide, a fat quarter measures 18"x 22". If the fabric is 54" wide (e.g. Home Decor fabric), a fat quarter measures 18" x 27". A fat quarter is NOT a quarter of a yard of fabric, which only measures 9" wide.

Why are some fabrics 44" wide and others are 54" wide?
-----Traditionally, quilting and sewing fabric for apparel is 44" wide. The manufacturer folds that in half before they put it on a bolt, so that it appears 22" wide. Usually 15 or 20 yards of fabric comes on a bolt. Home decor fabrics are generally heavier weight and need to be wider for projects such as drapes, duvet covers and recovering furniture. These fabrics are 54" wide.
