About

A Card In the Hand Beats a Digital One

I grew up in an age when everyone had a pen pal.

So when my hands gave out and I could no longer make the whimsical cloth dolls I loved to do, I decided to do something that only required machine work. After seeing a display of fabric postcards at a quilt show, I decided to make some. The more I made and sent, the more fun I had. With the help of our local post mistress, we worked out some of the kinks so they could be sent as a post card - no envelope. What I have in my shop is a result of those changes.

Email works for some and digital cards are the rage, but a card you can hold in your hands is special.

It is my firm belief that if you are going to send a card, make it unique. We are all different. The "one card fits all" mentality does not work for me. These fabric post cards are unique - most are one of a kind - and they are little pieces of mailable fabric art.

In the end, not only does the recipient get a fun card, but all those postal workers who handle it can enjoy it also.

But then there are those people who need more than a card. So my fabric accessories came about. Perhaps the most popular are the bed pillowcases made for the holidays, special occasions or just plain fun. You can see for yourself the variety of accessories by browsing through my shop.

Just recently our daughter has joined me in this shop. She is a spectacular photographer and makes wonderful note cards and post cards with her images. She is also responsible for the kaleidoscope cards made using her photographs and a program called Kaleidoscope Kreator.
