Announcement    Welcome to my shop deep in the heart of Exmoor, England, where the wild deer run free and owls hoot from the woods.

I hope you fall in love with my owls, hares, deer and swallows ... and that the moon and stars twinkle for you as they do here, on this dark sky reserve.

If you are buying a gift, please do say, as gift wrapping is a great way to show you care, and I just love sending parcels which folks swoon over.

Overseas shipping can take a while, but compared with the time it takes to make this traditional stained glass, it is worth the wait!

I have been making stained glass since way back in the last millennium, and I am delighted to be shipping it all over the world thanks to Etsy!

Enjoy the sparkle!

Living and working on beautiful Exmoor, where stags roam free and the sky is full of stars.

Exmoor, where I live is an unusually quiet little bit of England, a designated “Dark Sky Reserve” where moon and stars shine and twinkle. The sea lashes our stony shores, and we have the second highest tides in the world. We have a tiny Saxon church, which you can only walk to, and all kinds of secret places only we and the deer know ...

Fixing stained glass windows is part of how I make my living, often working on really old buildings. The law here does not allow some ancient buildings to change to modern windows. This is how I end up with lovely broken pieces of vintage glass, which I save, cut, paint and fire in my kiln. I enjoy working with this old, beautifully made glass, and giving it new life.

In springtime my stained glass windows are laid to one side, as lambs appear on the farms where I work, demanding care, expertise and love. It is an exhausting time of year, but I wouldn't miss it for the world. The fleece, their lovely wool is another material I spend time working with, dyeing and needle felting teddy bears 🧸 and other artworks, which you may find from time to time in my shop.

In winter I hunker down, light a fire in my studio, and make lovely sparkly decorations for you to hang in your home, to make the most of glimpses of the low winter sun beaming in through windows.

Some of you who passed this way, came to see my Retrospective Exhibition of paintings and stained glass in summer 2018 in Doveray Museum in Somerset. It was a wonderful opportunity to show my oil paintings and watercolours as well as the stained glass for which I am well known.

I often have fun on social media, sharing my work through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest... if you want to see my progress, and maybe chat, I am happy to see you there.

By buying my work, you are supporting me as an artist, and for that I thank you.

... I might just add a little free gift to your order to show you I care about you too ....

  • Clare Maryan Green

    Owner, Creator

I began making stained glass as a very young woman, and now I am quite old. This is me taking my second "selfie"!

  • Skipper

    Inspiration

Skipper what to say? He has taught me so much. Now grown into a properly naughty ram, I am hoping some of his baby lambs will appear later this spring.

  • Jupiter

    Assistant

Jupiter is a willing companion, if the workshop is warm, he will be there, listening to Radio Four, appreciating The Archers and “Just a Minute”. Oh happy hours!

Production partners

  • A print shop

    Dorking, England

    A fabric printing business

  • Paper maker

    England, United Kingdom

Small, local manufacturers of hand made paper, who I use for all of my stained glass window designs and watercolours and etchings.
