Announcement    Welcome to FairPlay Clothing! In June 2014, in an attempt to combine something I love doing – sewing – with something I’m passionate about – the world around me, FairPlay Clothing was created. I started by going through donated fabric from friends, old clothes, and taking trips to my local fabric shop which I found out is a family owned business which started as a market stall over 30 years ago, awesome find. My aim is to offer fun comfortable handmade clothing for children that will have local and global impacts using fair trade fabrics, locally bought fabric and haberdashery, recycling fabric and giving back by supporting local and national charities through proceeds. The nature of using donated and recycled fabric as well as upcycling clothes, means most FairPlay pieces are one of a kind making them perfect for your little one of kind or as gifts. The fairtrade fabric I use is woven by amazing artisans from Maya Traditions Foundation in Guatelmala. They create the most vibrant and colourful textiles using the backstrap weaving technique where they are physically connected to a tree with their loom. What an amazing connection! At the end of the day, I want my children to see me doing what I love doing and eventually begin to understand the importance of being connected with the world around them. I want to be able to tell folks, "I made your clothes" and that by supporting FairPlay Clothing, you're supporting local business and helping to empower communities around the world. If there's a special little someone in your life who has a birthday coming up consider buying them something handmade and original that will make an impact locally and globally. A little about Me and FairPlay Clothing

I’m Carrie Iddins and I made your clothes! I use recycled, locally bought, and fairtrade fabric to make handmade children’s clothes with a conscience. I can tell you that when you buy a piece made from fabric woven by the amazing artisan’s from the Maya Traditions foundation that you are supporting the economic and educational empowerment of those men and women, their families, and communities. I live in West Molesey and love walking up up the road for fabric and haberdashery as well as cycling down the Thames tow path into Kingston to the local fabric shops. I’d love to make a special piece for your someone special so if you don’t see the size you need or the pattern you like, let me know and I’ll make one just for you.
