Behind the scenes of my product photography setup for my new Hogwarts mascot plushie designs! I use a hand-painted watercolor backdrop, spools of thread, cardstock branches, and a DSLR to take my photos.
The whole set of wizard school mascots are now back in my etsy shop! Are you a snake, lion, badger or an eagle? If you can't choose (or you just want them all), I'm now offering the option to buy the whole collection! ️
Stitching some cute snowy owl faces to take to California this week for LeakyCon. ️
Announcing a whole family of snowy owl plushies! After a few years of only offering little ones, I've started making bigger redesigned versions of these Hedwig-inspired feathery friends! I'll be bringing a few to LeakyCon in Burbank, CA next week.
Getting these cuties all packed up for a market on Wickenden Street in Providence, RI tomorrow. (September 10th from noon to 5pm - stop by if you're local!)
Bears and snowy owls are back in my shop! Only a few of each are available.
Hand-embroidered snowy owl wings and faces pinned carefully in place, waiting to be sewn on. The finished ones are back in my shop if you'd like to take one home! They sold out a few weeks ago at GeekyCon.
My work table is covered in this upcoming batch of snowy owl plushies in various stages of the making process. ️ They'll be available in my shop again once I finish them!
I set up this late night makeshift sewing studio in my bed because I was too tired to sit at my desk.
I'm in the process of setting up my new sewing corner! About to organize my rainbow of thread spools.
I love the way that these freehand embroidery stitches give each my plushies a slightly different expression. Every one has its own unique personality! • Snag your own in my shop if my work speaks to you - there won't be another exactly like it!
I hand stitch the face onto each of my plushies! Here's a little red fox getting his signature pout.️️
Organized craft room storage makes me super happy! After we moved into our new house, I emptied and re-sorted all of my plushie-making supplies into these cube shelves. ️️
Penguins are now back in stock! And naturally, they're spending this hot day cooling off in my freezer. ️
Embroidering some teeny penguin faces while the baby naps. (These are currently sold out but hopefully I'll have some finished soon!)
Pile of fuzzy embroidered fox faces before I finished up these plushies yesterday. ️
Red fox plushies are now back in stock at FairweatherFriends! I just finished stitching up a batch with help from my tiny assistant.
️Just cut out all of the pieces I need to make the details on a batch of fox plushies! Ears, tails, faces, and eyes. These red foxes aren't back in stock in my shop yet, but their big-eared cousins the fennec foxes are!
Otter plushies are available again in my etsy shop! I made these overnight in my new studio while my baby slept. ️
Over the years, I've worked to make all of my plushie designs work together. They all share heart-shaped faces and several other hand stitched features! Because of that, they're even cuter when you collect a bunch and display them together.
Yesterday, I sold my work at the Makers & Merchants Sidewalk Sale in Providence, RI and it was really fun! Thanks to everyone who stopped by.
I set up a makeshift sewing kit to make some deer plushies in the living room! These little fawns are back in stock after being sold out for a while.
It's so beautifully sunny outside that Walter and Quill are planning their escape out this window. Visit the Fairweather Friends shop now to send them out on a new adventure! ️
I wrap up all of my plushie orders like this! Thoughtful packaging makes me happy.
