The door is beautiful! A Christmas gift for my Granddaughter and she loves it. These people really care about their customers. They took care of a problem I had with shipping right away.

This is a beautiful fairy door that looks like fairies could have made it, while still being substantial and sturdy enough to hold up to real play. The best fairy doors out there!

About

Whimsical fairy doors, goodes and wares to delight the “wee folk” both inside the home and in the garden

Fairy Hill Woodworks is a spin-off of our fine furniture business, Barrington Hill Studios, located in Ann Arbor, MIchigan. The inspiration came from our oldest granddaughter, then 4, who wanted to invite a fairy into her home with a fairy door. Not long after, a door appeared on the wall under the desk at the top of the stairs, with a note from Merriweather, a garden fairy, saying how delighted she was to have found a new home. Shortly after our other grandchildren also asked for fairy doors. For more than three years, our three granddaughters, now 7, 7, and 4, have exchanged tiny natural treasures such as pretty stones, flowers and interesting leaves, with their fairy friends, Merriweather and Majik.

It didn’t take long for parents of friends to ask about doors - and soon, after Grandpa Bob, the Master Tinker of Fairy Hill Woodworks, was supplying individually crafted fairy doors for friends, fundraisers at the pre-school and elementary schools - as well as for a number of grandparents in search of that unique gift for someone who has everything.

As a result, Fairy Hill Woodworks was officially formed last year and the offering broadened to include not only fairy doors, but also fairy houses, furniture, fairy dust, magic wands and other whimsical goodes and wares to delight the “wee folk” both inside the home and in the garden.

At Fairy Hill Woodworks, we treasure the opportunity to offer handcrafted doors for fairies and other wee folks (pixies, tinkers, elves, sprites and others). The wee folk use these doors as portals into the homes of special people who welcome their magic and charm. Each door is handcrafted by our Master Tinker from solid woods – including walnut, cherry, ash, hickory, maple and birch, and built to wee folk specifications. Some are hand-hewn and show the wear of ages on their frames. Others are smooth and rounded. Each is an individual work of art, stained with water-based dyes, sanded, finished with two coats of lacquer, and decorated with brass hinges and various sparklies that delight the wee folk, especially fairies.
