5 out of 5 starsThis beautiful art print is even better in person. The gold lustre is hard to capture in a photograph, but it gives the print a beautiful radiance in certain light. It adds a depth to the work, along with the different colors the artist uses in the print itself. It has been hung in a prominent place in my home, and it always catches my eye when I walk past. The quality exceeded my expectations, the seller provides wonderful customer service, and the shipping was fast. I would order again!

About FaithStoneArt
Woodblock process from carving to inking to printing
My main artistic discipline is hand printing woodblocks. I use the Japanese mokuhanga method of woodblock printing. Mokuhanga is an old school labor-intensive form of printmaking. I begin by drawing the image onto my carving block in reverse so that it prints correctly. Next comes the difficult process of carving which can take me a month or more. After that, I hand print the image onto mulberry paper using a barren. Lastly, I have the option of adding color by cutting additional blocks or hand painting the print with watercolors.
My background is traditional Tibetan thangka painting, which I studied and practiced for 20 years. Then, I found woodblocks and fell in love with the hands on feeling of working with wood and painting with non-toxic water based inks. I hope you enjoy my shop. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
