Como eu comecei!
How I got started!
Moro em Knoxville, TN com meu marido e duas filhas. Sempre fui uma pessoa do tipo artesanato. Eu me envolvi em um pouco de tudo, desde desenho, pintura de murais, acolchoamento, crochê, costura cruzada, e a lista continua e continua. Mas, na primavera de 2009, encontrei meu nicho em flores de origami dobráveis.
As flores foram ideia da minha mãe! Minha irmã ia se casar em setembro e minha mãe achou que seria divertido se nós (minhas duas irmãs, minha mãe e eu) fizéssemos um arranjo de origami para a mesa do bolo na recepção do casamento. Minhas irmãs são adotadas da Coreia e minha mãe achou que seria bom ter algo "asiático" no casamento (não que minhas irmãs sejam asiáticas de qualquer maneira - exceto por sua aparência). Resumindo, eu era o único que era capaz de dobrar as flores, todos os outros eram todos polegares. Percebi que adorava dobrar flores e que todos achavam meus arranjos únicos e bonitos. Foi assim que comecei.
I live in Knoxville, TN with my husband and two daughters. I have always been an arts & crafts type person. I have dabbled in a little of everything from drawing, painting murals, quilting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and the list goes on and on. But, in the spring of 2009, I found my niche in folding origami flowers.
The flowers were my mother's idea! My sister was getting married in September and my mom thought that it would be fun if we (my two sisters, my mother, and I) made an origami arrangement for the cake table at the wedding reception. My sisters are adopted from Korea and my mom thought it would be nice to have something "Asian" at the wedding (not that my sisters are Asian in anyway -except for their appearance). Long story short, I was the only one that was able to fold the flowers, everyone else was all thumbs. I realized that I loved to fold flowers and that everyone else thought my arrangements were unique and beautiful. This is how I got started.
