About

I have loved dolls since I was 3 years old . . .

in the 1960's my mother gave me a sewing machine and told me to learn to sew, as she was a great seamstress and had made me clothing when I was a child, both by hand and machine. I loved wearing the little seresucker and cotton summer dresses, sunsuits & hats and in the Winter, her handmade knitted sweaters.

As I became familiar with my sewing machine, I sewed complete wardrobes for my 3 nieces' Barbie Dolls, giving them each a shoebox full for Christmas. Needless to say, they were 3 of the happiest little girls you would ever see!

A friend taught me how to crochet in the 60's also.....and I became "hooked"! I made each person on my list something crocheted for Christmas that year....scarves, ponchos, sweaters and even a baby dress.

I also took some tailoring courses in sewing at our local Park District, which helped me refine my sewing techniques. I made my husband trouser, my sons some sunsuits when they were babies and made many dresses & skirts for myself in the 1960's and 1970's

In the mid-70's I learned how to make and paint porcelain dolls, and the natural path for me was to then create doll wardrobes. I wanted to create OOAK doll clothing that was well-made, imaginative and unique. I clothed my own dolls and those dolls that I sold.

When I became a Grandmother to little girls, I made them quite a few fancy dresses, which they still have, in spite of a bit of wear and tear. Some of them are still wearable,

Selling my clothing direct and on a well-known auction site and more recently on Etsy helps me keep busy and satisfies that constant urge to be creative that I have. It is genetic, as My grandfather and my aunt were wonderful artists. My aunt was a wonderful water colorist & oil artist as well as a wonderful seamstress who made all of her own clothing. Those wonderful traits were passed down to me.....Thanks to Grampa and Aunt Evie!
