Announcement    Welcome! Fashionslook is a growing collection of vintage sewing and craft patterns from Advance to Vogue. I will soon offer you at least 1,000 items to choose from each time you visit. Over 5,000 more are ready to show, so there will be something new almost every day. Mark Fashionslook as one of your favorite shops and you will see them first when they are published.

Explore the newly remodeled shop. By clicking on “Owner” you will find out more about me. Check out the “About” section for some helpful hints on searching the shop, my quality standards, a product slide show and a video of my day to day operations. “Policies” and “FAQ” have also been updated.

You will soon start finding completely re-written text in each listing to more accurately describe the condition of the pattern and envelope, each pattern’s size, whether it has been cut and, if so, what size the previous owner chose for the cut.

I will soon begin adding the costs of international shipping to all listings. This will take some time. If you see something you want before I add your country, please ask. I will add your country to your requested listing and respond to your inquiry to tell you it is ready to order.

Uh oh! Are you disappointed that your favorite pattern does not have measurements on the back of the envelope to match what the tape tells you to use? Common problem. Time to learn a new trick. In the FAQ I have collected a few links to tutorials that will teach you how to re-size any pattern to fit like you have always dreamed.

Also in FAQ you will find more information about both shipping and my policies.

I do hope you enjoy shopping here and that I can be helpful in supplying what you need for your creative sewing or craft project. Please ask in “contact the owner” if you have any questions.

GATHERING AND SHARING VINTAGE SEWING AND CRAFT PATTERNS

Welcome to Fashionslook. A long-time collecting hobby inspired this shop. Over 5,000 misses and girls, mens and boys, costume, doll clothes, cheerleader, and home decor sewing and craft patterns from the ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and more are available. Every vintage sewing and craft pattern I have deserves to be made into something for someone to enjoy. Can’t do them all myself!

On the way to making each of these vintage and not-so-vintage patterns available they are organized by brand and style, examined for condition, scanned “as is” without enhancements, accurately described, listed on Etsy and placed in an envelope that is both ready for prompt mailing and suitable for your long-term-storage.

After that, it’s up to you.

Come on in and browse the ever-growing collection in the shop. When you find what you need to start your project, please consider ordering more than one. I do combine packaging and refund any savings of over a dollar on shipping.

I’ll promptly address your envelope and get it to the Post Office before the next mail truck leaves town. The USPS will tell me when you can expect delivery, either to your home in the U.S. or to your country for international destinations. That information will be in your shipping confirmation.

Check out the video (In production, October 1, 2017) to see how I found, selected, described, offered and placed these patterns in the shop. My daily scenic bike ride to the Post Office with your orders is also shown.

MY QUALITY STANDARDS

Please be aware that as of this writing, the following descriptions have not been edited into all of the current listings. It is a promise to both me and you that I will get it done soon! If you have any questions, please contact me.

I’m not done until you are satisfied. I begin by clearly describing the condition of each pattern in the listing. And I check it again for accuracy before putting it in the mail. I do try my best to make sure you know what to expect when you open your mail in a few days.

Each pattern’s vintage is stated in each listing, usually the copyright date printed on the pattern’s envelope. For older patterns without copyright dates I use a pattern dating guide published by another Etsy seller. If you believe I got it wrong, please let me know. It was accidental and I sure want to know about it!

Listed patterns are in either “excellent” or “good” condition unless clearly stated otherwise.

The “excellent” patterns are uncut in factory folds, in their original envelope with very few bruises, tears or markings. These got left behind in the previous owner’s hope chest and you get the privilege of being the first user.

The “good” patterns have been cut, gently used and returned to their original envelopes with care. Relevant information on the envelope is legible, but these often-handled envelopes usually show more of the expected signs of age, storage and use.

I assume, without individually removing and inspecting each pattern piece, that all of the pieces are there. However, If I do send you a pattern with a missing piece, let me know. See my refund policy in FAQ.

You often cannot judge a pattern by its envelope. The condition of the pattern and the condition of the envelope are described separately in each listing. The condition is also visible in the listing images. These images will normally include:

The front and back of the pattern envelope
The condition of the pattern
The instruction cover - I will tell you in the text if the instructions are missing
If the pattern is cut, the cut size is shown on the image
The cut size will be stated in each listing’s text

Please zoom in on the images to be sure you know what to expect before ordering. If you have questions, please contact me.

Oh, by the way, there will soon be a bonus image in each listing. FashionsLook is located in Bishop, California in the beautiful Eastern Sierra. I live in the sage brush desert at 4,000 feet elevation and can see 14,000-foot peaks to both the east and the west of the valley floor from the shop. Our nickname is “The Deepest Valley.” The last image in each listing will include one of a variety of pictures of me delivering your order to the Post Office. Quickly, because I enjoy the scenic ride so much.

FINDING YOUR PATTERN

You and I are engaged in the great 21st Century game: Guess The Search Term.

You will soon be offered a diverse and constantly changing collection of around 1,000 listed patterns. To find yours, you have to guess what search terms I’m using that will bring you exactly what you want. And I have to try to figure out what you are guessing! One of us has to give it away - kind of like giggling during a game of hide and seek. OK, I give. Here’s how it works. I plan on including at least one term from each topic below in every listing. Use one or as many as you like in the Fashionslook search box to find the best match I have to offer.

Note: Entering additional terms into existing listings is a work in progress, hopefully to be completed soon!
