Frequently asked questions

How long will it take to ship my order?

Every item we make is made to order in house. This means that we will process your one of a kind item after you have placed your order.

If you forget to specify any details of your order, please contact us immediately via Etsy Messages. Any time we spend trying to get this information from you will delay the processing of your order.

Although we work very hard to ship the same or next day, it can take up to ten (10) business days for garments or five (5) business days for all other items for your order to be processed and shipped out depending on the number of orders in the queue.

Please be assured that we will do our best to get your order completed and shipped as quickly as possible.

Where is my package? Why hasn't it been delivered? The tracking on my package is not updating, where is it?

We all hate it when our packages take longer than expected to arrive. Unfortunately, like everyone else, we have no control over the USPS once the package is given to them. We will be happy to try to assist you, however, unfortunately, there is little we can do that you can't.

Lost packages

The USPS does not consider a domestic package to be lost until after 30 days.

International orders are not considered lost until after six (6) weeks.

If your tracking information is not updating, please contact the USPS for help tracking your package. The USPS can be contacted at: 1 (800) 275-8777.

I provided the wrong mailing address at checkout... What do I do?

Accidents happen. If your item has NOT YET BEEN SHIPPED please send us an email immediately letting us know of the error and providing a correct shipping address. We will make a note of the new address and use it when your order is ready to ship.

If your item has already been shipped, it may be returned to us.

In the event your item is returned to us, you will need to provide a correct shipping address and purchase additional postage for the package to be resent.

We will create a custom listing for just the shipping amount. Once you pay for this item your package will be mailed to the new address you provided.

My item looks a little different than the one in the photo?

All of our items are custom made just for you. That means they are one of a kind.

Although we have standard sizes and designs there may be some slight variations in the finished product. This is due to the custom handmade nature of the item.

Shipping Charges for Multiple Items. Was I overcharged for shipping?

We have noticed that occasionally Etsy may not calculate the shipping charges for orders containing multiple items very well. You may be charged more than necessary at the time of checkout. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We review each order and WILL REFUND the difference between what was charged and actual shipping.

We always try to use the cheapest shipping options available for our customers. For example if you select USPS Priority Mail and we are able to get your order in a "Flat Rate" envelope we pass this savings on to you with a refund.

I am ordering a garment. Where do I provide the design color?

Unfortunately, Etsy only allows us to create a listing with two "variations" dropdowns. We typically use them for the garment size and color.

This unfortunately means that we must ask you to tell us your design color choice during checkout.

You do this by entering your choice in the "Personalization" box or "Comment to Seller".

Please just type the color you would like there.

You can find the color chart as a sample image on all of our garment listings.

If you forget to tell us your vinyl color choice at checkout please email us immediately with your selection.

IF YOU DO NOT TELL US YOUR VINYL COLOR CHOICE WE WILL USE A DEFAULT COLOR OF OUR CHOICE OR CANCEL AND REFUND YOUR ORDER AT OUR DISCRETION.

Will a removable decal damage my surface?

Typically, the answer is no. However, there is always a chance that when you remove a vinyl decal it may cause the paint to peel or chip.

You must be very careful when removing a decal from a painted surface and be prepared to touch up the paint as necessary.

Never try to scrape or cut a decal away from drywall or other soft surface as it will likely damage the surface. Use a heat gun or hair dryer on high to soften the decal and adhesive and carefully peel the decal away.

We do not recommend applying the decal to the painted surface of a vehicle as it may damage the paint. Especially if it is a lease.

We are not responsible for the damage to any surface you apply the decal.

Will the decal stick to my surface?

Our decals will adhere to any flat, mostly smooth to smooth surface. Including drywall, wood, glass, and plastic.

All of our decals can be applied to the outside of a vehicle's window without issue.

Decals may not adhere to painted surfaces containing Teflon, stain guard or low VOC paints. Low VOC paints are a green friendly paint with low odor or no odor. Paints containing these compounds may repel removable vinyl decals and make them peel off your surface.

Will the decal adhere to kitchenware (cups, mugs, glasses, etc.)?

Unless specifically stated in the listing our decals are NOT designed to be placed on kitchenware that will be washed regularly or put through a dishwasher.

IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE US WITH YOUR CHOICE OF VINYL COLOR FOR THE DESIGN ON THE GARMENT WE WILL USE A VINYL COLOR OF OUR CHOICE OR CANCEL AND REFUND YOUR ORDER AT OUR DISCRETION.

We will attempt to contact you via the Etsy Messaging System. If we do not hear back from you before your garment is ready for processing the above policy will be applied.

Custom Text Policy

If you do not provide us with the necessary custom name or text to process your order, we will attempt to contact you via the Etsy Messaging System. If we do not hear back from you before your garment is ready for processing your order will be canceled and refunded.

Full Return Policy and Terms

Fat Dog Designs WILL refund the purchase price and shipping or provide a replacement should an item be defective and we receive your return.

We DO NOT accept returns or exchanges of non-defective items. Additionally, we DO NOT accept returns because of of fit, sizing, or color. Please make sure you order the correct size garment or decal.

Please notify us of the issue within seven (7) days of receiving the item. Please be prepared to provide photos of the defect for verification.

We DO NOT accept a return if an item has been:

- Removed from the transfer tape or backing paper
- Used
- Worn
- Washed
- Damaged

We DO NOT warranty decal application. Please contact us if you have any questions about application.
