Shepherding sheep as an act of social justice and earth care.
Zach and Lindsay raise Jacob Sheep for food, fiber, and to help conserve rare non-commercial genetics. Every year the sheep are sheared, and wool roving is the result (after a bit of cleaning and combing at the wool mill). Similarly every year we take the extra lambs to the butcher which results in ethically raised meat for the Oasters' dinner table, and also lucious pelts for sale (after they visit the tanner, of course). Fat Toaster Farm is the place where we seek to tread lightly on the planet while making sure that the food we eat and the animals we care for are raised with the utmost attention to ethical and sustainable practices. Along the way we seek to share our experience and knowledge with persons local and abroad who seek the same goals.
Your purchase directly supports our farming efforts and the local learning and growing community that the farm supports.Thank you!
