A gorgeous old bath I found on my travels & heads from an old English cottage that we had inset into our French wall.
Selling The Past In The Present
Hello, my name is Janette and this shop was born of a lifelong passion and interest in interior design. I was born with a gene that has made it absolutely essential to purchase houses that are in the worst possible state. The worse the state, the harder my heart beats. From a fairly young age, I have found endless pleasure (and a little pain) in searching for the unusual and original to furnish my home with.
Always loving items from the past and repurposing and recycling too, most of our home is made up this way. I was recycling before it became popular.
Moving from our wonderful old Elizabethan 2* listed stone farmhouse in Lincolnshire to the incredible Aveyron Department in France, in 2004, ensured that the passion and interest were on going. Finding so many wonderful, Fatigued French Finds, meant a natural progression to setting up our business here in France.
I travel around the area on our buying trips and love to discover fabulous Fatigued French Finds to list on Etsy. https://fatiguedfrenchfinds.etsy.com Please visit me often as I regularly list new items.
I get the greatest rush of pleasure when I buy something because I love it and then a customer purchases it and loves it too. The interaction with people from all over the world is an added bonus.
I am extremely concerned about the state of the planet. Selling antiques and collectibles that have already had one life and can be used again, is a great way to avoid making new, and to be honest, lower quality items in most cases. I use whenever possible, recycled cartons but I have to buy some in and always check to ensure that they have the lowest ecological impact. I am reducing my visits to the Post Office on ecological and also financial reasons. I will continue to look for ways to reduce my foot print when it comes to shipping.
From small beginnings my business is growing. I have learnt a lot along the way and greatly appreciate the opportunity that I have. My customers delight is my aim!
