This was purchased as a gift for a "bookish" exchange. The recipient was very happy to receive the necklace.

Great for literary types.
Literary trash to ecologically responsible treasures
FavoringBrave is the creative brainchild of Tulsa, OK artist Jill Simons. She began her crafty pursuits in 2005 making beaded jewelry to sell at a Farmer's Market while in high school and that venture morphed into a full time job as well as a shop in downtown Tulsa from 2012-2015. Jill makes every piece by hand out of old books that would otherwise be discarded by local schools and libraries. She stocks her online store, FavoringBrave, entirely with her own work and her commitment to bringing her customers high quality handcrafted goods has earned her repeat customers all over the Midwest.
FavoringBrave sets out to rescue lost books that just want to be loved again. From toddler shredded Dr. Seuss to high school libraries' discarded novels, FavoringBrave takes these books and gives them new life as one or more of our over 200 products made from recycled book parts and pages, including journals, shelves, cards, prints, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, charms, hair accessories, and much more. Each book is treated with love and respect and anything that is not used is recycled.
We want to encourage our customers to look for the socially and ecologically responsible ways to shop, and help them to see the potential in everyday things. With a little imagination, there is possibility everywhere. We are a home based business in Tulsa, OK and you can shop secure in the knowledge that you are personally supporting a full time artist who is living her childhood dream, and that you're hard earned money is staying right here, supporting the arts and helping to build our community.
