I bought this for my boyfriend, now fiancé, as an engagement present. It was so perfect because it is still beautiful and rustic and actually a pillow that is soft. He absolutely loved it.

Welcome to Featherhen!

I am an East coast, Southern girl, a proud military spouse and a mom, who's life is constantly changing! My husband is a submariner in the USN, which makes for an interesting life. We have 4 kiddos, three boys and a sweet little girl that rounds out our family.
Feather Hen's name came from a nick name my grandfather gave me as a child. It is a play on my first and middle names. So, it is close to my heart and reminds me of what is most important in life, family.
Being a military spouse, selling on Etsy makes for a very portable job, which is great for any military spouse! I have always loved home decor, way back from the time I had my very first doll house. I rearranged the furniture constantly and wallpapered it with sample papers from the local wall paper shop. I put flooring in doll house from scraps my dad had left over from building homes! So, I know it's important to have things looking just right!
I strive to provide a quality product for a reasonable price. I love wonderful feeling fabrics, that make me want to curl up in them, I also love using unexpected items to make something new, different, or to make an existing idea or
item work better, no matter the materials used.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Please know I take great care in the creation and shipment of your purchase. Let me know if it arrives to you and does not meet your standards. If for any reason you are not satisified, please convo me and let me know. I will do my best to make it right!
If an item does not arrive, please let me know. If you are unhappy, please give me the chance to make you happy before leaving a negative feedback. I cannot make it right if I don't know it happened.
If a return is necessary and agreed upon by both parties, the item must be received back to Feather Hen within 30 days of the purchase. I will credit back the agreed upon amount once the item is received.

TURN AROUND AND SHIPPING

My turn around time is 3-5 business days unless otherwise stated in the listing. I ship USPS first class, which generally takes 3-5 days to US ADDRESSES under normal conditions.

If you would like a shipping upgrade, they are shown during check out.

I ship several times a week, with the exception of holidays and weekends.

SHIPPING ADDRESSES:

Please have the correct address in the ships to field, NOT in the notes box. This will expedite your order. If you are shipping to two different addresses, separate orders are needed for speed, accuracy and sufficient postage for both locations.

I have no way of knowing if your item will be taxed. These are the buyers responsibility. These fees cannot be collected at the time of purchase or prepaid. I have no way of collecting and submitting them for you.

Please be aware that you will be responsible for any taxes, VAT, customs duties, handling/brokering fees or other amounts that may be levied by your home country for importing.

Check with your Customs office and/or Postal Service if you are concerned about possible tariffs. Our government requires a customs declaration of value form on all parcels leaving The United States. Legally, I cannot declare any items you purchase as a gift.

Additional policies and FAQs
I try to respond quickly to your questions and concerns, however, if it is outside of business hours, please know I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

PERSONALIZED INFORMATION: Please leave any additional information necessary for your order in the white "notes" box. It can be found by adding the item to your cart. You can type in it and all info put there will accompany your order.

PROOFS: I can create proofs after purchase when needed. An example of when one might be needed is if there is a custom aspect to the design beyond changing the names. If you need a proof let me know and I will send it via etsy convo after purchase. Proofs are send via Etsy Convo system. Creating proofs slows down my turn around time.
It is my policy to only create proofs only after purchase.

ERRORS:

Basically, if I make a mistake, such as a misspelling, I will gladly replace your cover at no cost to you. However, I need to know something is wrong to fix it. Please let me know via Etsy convo if there is a problem. Let me SHOW you that I stand behind my products. Please don't let the first time I hear about a problem be when I read your review.

If the error is due to the customer misspelling, incorrect date given, information left off, ordered incorrectly contact me, I will try my best to work with you.

If it is the postal services fault, I will file a claim with the USPS 7 days after expected arrival and refund accordingly after they research the package and make a determination of the items whereabouts. Please contact me if this happens.


I take great care to make sure your item is just as described and is what you ordered. Once the item leaves my hands, I unfortunately have no control over the postal system. I do provide tracking to ensure items arrive. However, Items lost in the mail do happen. Not often, but it does happen. If an item does come up missing, yet the tracking says it was DELIVERED, refunds will not be given. If shown as delivered, and you have not seen it you at your location need to file a theft report. If it never shows as delivered a refund or replacement will be given per shop owner discretion. ( I have never had this happen... So, knock on wood! )

CONTACTING ME: Please use ETSY CONVO SYSTEM first before email, when contacting me. I don't check my email as often as I do Etsy and emails often get kicked to a junk /spam folder.

99% of my orders have the male initial requested to be first.

Yes, I can do basic colors. Tell me in the Check out notes along with your personalized info. If I can not do it, I will let you know.

I left an incorrect "ship to" address, what do I do?

Message me the correct address and I will add it to your order.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Each pillow is tied with a ribbon into a bow, and I will gladly add a note card for you.

What is your turn around time?

Care of Pillows

All pillow covers are dry clean to maintain vibrant color. You may also spot clean with mild detergent and air dry . The inserts may be laundered normally.

These are décor pillows. They are not meant to be used as sleeping pillows. They are decorative throw pillows that should be treated as a décor item.
