What makes you want to get out of bed each morning?

Part of my job as a professor is to offer academic advise to undergraduate students. Aside from making sure that each student meets the necessary requirements for graduation, I feel it is important to kindle their passions. Life shouldn't be about going through the motions, but about LIVING! I enjoy each moment of my day whether it is trouble shooting an experiment, watching my daughter's gymnastics meet, helping my son with his homework, talking politics with my husband, or locking myself away in my room and creating jewelry. I enjoy the transformation from material like bottlecaps, metal, stone, glass, or plastic to a wearable piece of art. I hope one of my pieces resonates with you and awakens a passion in you.

Much like Superman, I have two distinct jobs. By day, I am a research scientist searching for potential new treatments for heart disease and cancer. By night, after my kids are in bed, I create the one of kind creations you can find in my store.

Welcome to Feed Your Need Designs! Here you will find everything you need to satisfy your hunger for handmade jewelry.

This enterprise grew out of a bottlecap project I did with my daughter for her gymnastics team. When we were finished, we had a number of leftover bottlecaps, and I had to figure out something to do with them. I fed my need by starting to make bottlecap jewelry for friends and family. My journey quickly took me from bottlecaps to beading and other creative expressions. After receiving much encouragement, I have decided to bring my unique creations to a larger audience. I hope you enjoy looking over my jewelry as much as I enjoyed making these pieces!

Please pay for your purchases at the time of order. I am pleased to offer two secure methods of payment. The first allows you to pay via credit card through the Etsy site. The other utilizes PayPal, a secure site which allows you to pay with funds in your PayPal account or with a credit card. Even if you are not a member of PayPal, you can still purchase through their site with a credit card. Please follow this link for more information about paying via PayPal or setting up an account:

When you buy an item on Etsy, you are making an agreement to purchase and pay for the item. If there is a special circumstance and you can not make your payment at the time of order, please convo me so that I can reserve the item for you. Items not paid for within 3 days will have the order cancelled and relisted, unless prior arrangements have been made.
I ship internationally. I try to keep shipping costs as affordable as possibly for my customers. However, please note that as of January 27, 2013, the USPS increased international shipping rates by more than 60%, which means that my shipping fees have followed suit. All packages will be sent within 2 business days of payment receipt. Domestic packages are shipped via first class USPS with delivery confirmation. Should you desire faster delivery or wish to insure your package, please convo me and I will be happy to quote you the cost of shipping upgrade. Orders over $100 (before shipping) will be insured for FREE.

For my international customers, I ship via USPS First Class Mail International. Please convo me if you wish to expedite shipping or add insurance so that I can send you a quote. Any international tax, tariff, customs duties, etc. are the responsibility of the buyer. Unfortunately, without upgrades, there is no way to track packages once the shipment has left the US as each government as its own postal system.

I will ship to your PayPal address. If you want to receive your purchases at a different address, please convo me at the time of your order, and/or include the desired shipping address in the message to seller box at checkout.
Refunds and Exchanges
My goal is for you to be completely satisfied with your buying experience. If, upon receipt, you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return it to me in its original condition for a full refund (less the cost of shipping and any fees or duties) within 7 days. Please convo me to set up the return. Unfortunately, there are no refunds for custom orders.
Additional policies and FAQs
I LOVE to personalize to bring you the jewelry you crave. Do not hesitate to convo me with any questions, ideas, or pictures you might want to incorporate into jewelry!

Usually, I leave positive feedback as soon as I receive payment. Please keep this in mind and do the same for me upon receipt of your purchase. If you are unhappy in any way at any point during this process, I would first appreciate a chance to make it right via conversation before neutral or negative feedback is left. Thanks so much and happy shopping!
