My love is always felt
Hi, this is Martyna from Felt Label. Let me take this opportunity to give you the story about me and my brand.
By education I am a master of art with a specialty in interior design. However, I quickly became convinced that I was much closer to handicrafts, and to create everyday items, not just 3D projects.
From the beginning, I do almost everything myself with a little help from my husband. I invent, design, make prototypes, contact you by email and phone, neck, pack and deliver to the post office. I photograph products, and I document the life of the studio daily at Instagram, where I cordially invite you.
Felt Label has been around for 8 years. At the very beginning it was not easy, the fears were great or I could do it and have stayed until today :). I started in my apartment cutting out felt by hand, until the moment when you had to make a decision to buy a laser plotter (ie a huge colossus) and so I landed in a residential garage.
It was a temporary solution and forced another change of location, this time I moved to a dark studio without windows in a cold and old tenement house. For a long time I tried to ignore the lack of space, sunlight and I was ashamed to show this studio in the pictures. As the years passed, I was getting harder and harder and finally came to the conclusion that it was time for the next step …
I was happy that customers come and I do not lack ideas for further projects, which gave me great joy. However, it took me a long time to get used to the idea that it is time for the next step.
In spite of her fear, I decided to take up the challenge and, recently, the long-awaited dream came true. There is a second studio with large windows, with a bookcase that holds all the products and a long top, where you can work comfortably. Finally, I can also do my beloved photos.
Maybe it's no feat for you, because you can take on a hundred more complex challenges. Nevertheless, I am proud of myself and thank you here for everyone who wanted to have what I do at home, and for those who write, call, mean FL in the pictures. Yes, I know, cliché ... but if it was not for you who I would like to develop and leave the comfort zone;)
Maybe now enough about me, and I will tell you about the materials with which I work and the products that I create. From the very beginning I use ecological synthetic felt, which is made of recycled polyester fibers, eg PET bottles. It is very durable, resistant to tearing and friction, and at the same time light and flexible, non-aging, easy to wash and maintain. I can make both handbags as everyday products or decorations.
I tried to work with other materials, but finally my love is always felt. I also love birch plywood, cotton and woven string.
The first products were created in a very uncomplicated way, using simple tools (e.g. from a knife to wallpaper). And buying a plotter has enabled me to do new, more complex projects.
In my offer, the base are women's handbags in many styles. In addition, I love to create interior decoration, which you will also find in the offer of my store.
I really like to make custom-made products made to measure. Working on them is a big challenge, but it gives me great satisfaction. The range of ideas of my clients is huge. Many of these products later enter into a permanent store offer.
I try to work on products that I would like to receive myself. Starting from functionality, design and finishing, and finishing with packaging.
