The adventure that began with some wool and a single barbed needle

One day when I was shopping in my local supermarket, I came across a needle felting kit. I had never heard of needle felting before. On the box there was a picture of 2 small dolls and 3 keyrings, some wool in different colors and 2 barbed needles.
I bought the kit not knowing that that would be the craft I would spend countless hours on.

Since I was a little girl I have played with different kinds of crafts, knitting, sewing, painting, patchwork, quilting etc. but I always got tired of it after some months. Needle felting is different - well to me it is - It´s now 4½ years ago since I bought that needle felting kit and hardly a day has gone by where I haven´t been needle felting something.

I must admit that the results that came out of that craftset is nothing to be proud of *LOL*, but I liked to needle felt and when I was done I went to the local craftshop to buy some more kits. Soon I wanted to design my own things. In the beginning I needle felted on styropor but after a while I found that it limited my creativity instead of helping me, and I haven´t used them since.

I began to surf the internet for inspiration and found an amazing dollmaker called Kay Petal. I contacted her and with help from her turturials I started to make art dolls. They were so fun to make but also extremely time consuming, one doll can easily take 40 hours to make. When I was not needle felting dolls I made animals and soon my "collection" was too big and I opened my Etsy shop together with a friend. 6 months later I went solo here on Etsy.

More and more ideas came to life; bookmarks, miniatures, different kinds of hair accessories, pom pom flowers etc. and I have tons of ideas that I haven´t created yet.

If you have allready visited my shop you will see that I do sell felted items that are not needle felted, that´s because I like to try new methods and learn all the time but needle felting is and will always be the main part in my shop - and in my heart!

Wellcome to FeltedByRikke and thank you for your interest

With a single barbed needle and wool I create many different kinds of items, bookmarks, miniatures, keyrings etc.
When you buy from FeltedByRikke you buy a piece of handmade craft which I have spend many hours in creating.
You will also find some items that are felted in another way, that could be with soap and water by hand or knitted items that are felted in the washingmashine, but mostly my items are needle felted because that´s the way I like to do the most.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
I use paypal because that is the most secure way for you and me to make a transaction.

Payment regarding custom orders please read additional information
I ship all items using PostDanmark which is the national postservice in Denmark. All items are send priority.
I try to ship within 24 hours after I have recieved your payment, but I can´t garantee that it will always happen. If I´m ill, my internet has broken down or anything like that. It has never happend so far, but I don´t want to promise you something that there is a small risk that I can´t keep.
When I have shipped your item I always send you a shipping notification and in that I write how long you can expect it to take before you recieve your item. That is not a garantee for when your item arrives but how long the Danish postal service expect it to take.
Refunds and Exchanges
If there is any problems don´t hesitate to contact me. Every item is safely packed but I´m aware that many people handle your item from the time I send it until you recieve it, so accidents can happen.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders are very wellcome. If you want me to create a special item for you, just send me a convo, and I will do my very best to fullfill your wishes. Small custom orders work like this: you make a request for something and when I have created your item, I take photos and send to your emailadress, if you are satisfied, you let me know and I make a reserved listing for you, you pay and I send you the item. If you don´t like what I have made after seeing the photos you let me know, and you pay nothing, I will then list the item on Etsy for everyone to buy.

If it´s a large item like a doll or something similar that is personalized I ask for 50% of the payment upfront, because I will not be able to sell the item to another customer, if you are not satisfied.
